The cloud of beer in space, which was discovered by my UK namesake, was made of Ethanol - the kind of alcohol that gets you drunk and features prominently in spirits.

This fuel cell is made with Methanol - the kind of alcohol that makes you sick, appears in trace quantities in most spirits, and is toxic toxic toxic.

So right then - Bender lives.

I think they're trying to get rid of the "after charging" part.

exactly, plus as the process is made more efficient and scale comes into play they hope to get 10 hours of life out of these things - fuel cells are awesome.

Also methanol is cheaply acquired in comparison with rechargeable LiIon stuff.
