I often get this message when browsing various sites, and it's bloody irritating. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it?

stop using the internet

set up an entry in your hosts file pointing doubleclick.net to the loopback address (127.0.0.1) and the message should go away AND you won't have to look at all those doubleclick adverts.

(location of hosts file depends on operating system, /etc/hosts for unixy things, c:\windows\hosts for win98, think it's in c:\windows\system\drivers\etc\hosts for win2000...)

I prefer Chaki's answer, andy.

Thanks Andy, but I'm a bit confused still. What do I write where in the hosts file?
