di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 13:38 (twenty-three years ago)

All yore suggestions are GREBT but not actually on the money!! Although please do keep suggesting and I might tell you if anyone is right at the end of the day!

Celebrations are OF COURSE in order and I move for *pints*! How are people fixed for Friday then?

YAY! More money! But BOO! More commuting! But YAY! More time to read!

(There you go, that was a hint - it's something that isn't based in central London)!

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 13:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh and as for thee Atommick Brane it are being on hiatus due to er... WORK HORROR, all will be revived when home computer and interweb connection surfaces (ie do not hold yore breff).

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 13:46 (twenty-three years ago)

I might tell you if anyone is right at the end of the day!

good - I was beginning to think that, if you told us, you'd have to kill us!

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 13:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Are you being an archery instructah in the forest of old Sherwood?

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 13:46 (twenty-three years ago)

how will the commuting be affected by NOOOOO HOOOOOOOSE?

chris (chris), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 13:48 (twenty-three years ago)

House Monkey Trainer.

I cannae do this Friday unfortunately. Move for pint EARLIER!

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 13:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Ooh gawd, the NOOOO HOOOOOOSE move will make the commute so horrible it's quite unfeasible - but one thing about this position is that it's still temporary for a couple of months (is this normal?) and then you can decide if you want to go perm/if they think you are good for the job - so I am hoping to have something else more central by the time of the NOOO HOOOSE.

Sadly Tim you are wrong although I do fancy myself with a QUIVER.

(NB as long as I was better at it than the burd in Toms D&D GBA farce of a game).

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 13:51 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm down at Isabel's tonight but the Albert on Thursday or other pub on Friday sound great to me Sarah. Oh also tonight can you note down the make of our washing machine so I can finally TAKE ACTION.

Tom (Groke), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 13:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes! I am the star in Ape Escape 3!!

Sadly I cannot do tonight (pints arranged ages ago) or tomorrow (getting a haircut) but ok then what about Monday or Wednesday next week? Wednesday is my first day...

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 13:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Tom it is a Hotpoint First edition 1000!

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 13:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Wednesday is my first day...

starting new jobs on days other than Monday = CLASSIC.

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 13:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 13:57 (twenty-three years ago)

more horrible than my commute Sarah? Bloody hel;l, is it in deepest darkest sarf lahndan then?

chris (chris), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 13:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Is it in Woking?

alext (alext), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 14:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Finding out Starry's new job step 1: Ring her and ask!

Finding out Starry's new job step 2: Forget immediately because you have brain of narcoleptic puppy.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 14:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Are you working in the local chocolate factory mucking out Oompa Loompas with a shovel?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 14:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Is it it ChorleyWOOD?

Is it in Chestington World of Adventures? As a bubbble blower?

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 14:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh this is very exciting indeed. Good idea on the early-next-week drunking, I shall be there unless I break a leg. And one might consider dragging oneself to the pub using elbows if that were the case. I like beer, is that a crime?

Where do you get tasty new jobs from Sarah? I NEED TO KNOW.

Gothic Zelda theme park fromage de pompadour?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 14:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Are you to be DDR consultant to the inmates od Broadmoor, nr Camberley, Surrey?

Or better still DDR consultant to the inhabitants of the former DDR?

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 15:09 (twenty-three years ago)

(I'm at swimmer quiz next Monday Liz if you fancy a battle ov witZor).

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 15:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Sarah will be a pole-dancer at Go-Go McShimmmy's!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 15:17 (twenty-three years ago)

This is about her new job, not the way you unwind after choir singing.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 15:39 (twenty-three years ago)

The LSO's new education centre, LSO St Luke's, in an old church "which was created by expanding the church's three-vault crypt, and relocating the remains of 1,000 or so of its interees to Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey."

Quite a commute. Well done, Sarah.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 16:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Sarah is a washing machine spotter!

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 16:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Are you reviewing biscuits?

Matt (Matt), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 16:25 (twenty-three years ago)

YOU CAN'T HAVE ME BISCUITS!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 16:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Sarah you (hy)rule, congratulations! and I have some advice for the long train trip! Do NOT smoke a spliff before getting on,it might seem like a good idea but it makes the trip seem 5 times as long, and your concentration for reading will be shot.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 17:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Congrats, starry! Knew you would! Go out, rule....then lay waste on the weekends.....

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 17:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Heya Nichole! Cheers! I didn't know you were still on ILE, how are things going?

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 17:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh yes, and it's local council admin, in Woolwich!

Roxx0r eh!

Eh?

Anyone?

Bueller?

Mentalists?

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 17:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Congratulations! No more work horror! Or at least new and exciting forms of work horror!

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 17:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Woolwich isn't too bad from your current location (L. Bridge then the train). From your future location it's a trifle more phearful.

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 18:05 (twenty-three years ago)

hip hip hooray for Starry! On her magical new jobbing day!!!

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 18:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Heya Nichole! Cheers! I didn't know you were still on ILE, how are things going?

Hiya! Indeed, I am....only I can't post as often, since there is no Net access at my mum's place. (Short version: am visiting Mum in Florida for a while, and watching over her health. She has good and bad days. Anyhoo, family stress was getting me down, so I escaped to California for a vacation, last Thursday. Tis where I still am.)

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 18:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Congratulations, Sarah! I hope it proves a very pleasant and rewarding job.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 19:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Yo! Where the bars at?

Will there be drunking this week for the purpose of congratulating the starry one? And will it be this very evening at the Swimmers, with the aid of bounteous Prospect Golden Ale?

Ah whatever, I'm probs going there anyway for the pub quiz.

Crikey, local govmnt admin. I am not-so-slowly going out of my mind, but then I do have the dullest office-monkey tasks to do - temps get dumped on from great heights, innit.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 31 March 2003 08:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Not too bad to get to Woolwich Starry, you can get the bus to Stratfordm, and then you can get close on a 106 which goes to Greenwich, also the North London line that goes through Queen street and leyton midlan (ie behind your new house) goes to woolwich too iirc.

chris (chris), Monday, 31 March 2003 08:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Yay, Swimmer action toNITE! I shall be there about 7:30.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 31 March 2003 08:24 (twenty-three years ago)

You can go for peaceful lunchbreaks on the Woolwich Free Ferry!
(I ph43r Woolwich town centre, however.)

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Monday, 31 March 2003 08:26 (twenty-three years ago)

the 106 is surely finsbury park-whitechapel chris?

gareth (gareth), Monday, 31 March 2003 08:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Ooh not sure, I need to take stuff home and wash hair and stuff and most importantly play APE ESCAPE TWO but it's mighty tempting. I heart the Swimmer. Maybe next week, my preciouss...

As for celabratory bouze SOMETIME this week would be good but I also don't want to turn up reeking of BOUZE and hungover as all hell in the first week of a new job so I reckon a Friday get together could merge usual weekend drinks and celbrations in a most fitting manner... god knows where though.

Glad to see you're alive Pete!

Sarah (starry), Monday, 31 March 2003 08:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Hmm how do you cross the river if you attempt this Stratford thing? I reckon it should still only take an hour or so if you still end up going to L. Bridge and the train but it does seem like going a hell of a lot out of the way.

Sarah (starry), Monday, 31 March 2003 08:29 (twenty-three years ago)

For once in my life, I have other plans.

Graham (graham), Monday, 31 March 2003 08:32 (twenty-three years ago)

The Prospect Golden Ale is sparkly and shiny, and quietly warps yr mind to its secret agenda, like IT. Come to ussss preciousssss...

Besides, am doing Sinister stuff next weekend, so no ILX drunking then. Although: Cabbage, me old son, weren't you going to do a pre-ATP nite on Friday? If so, could combine with Starry congrats, if not, hurray, alternative mentalist pubbing beckons.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 31 March 2003 08:34 (twenty-three years ago)

OMG Graham, you're going to see Wheatus? You teenage dirrtbag you.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 31 March 2003 08:35 (twenty-three years ago)

hmm hmm. if you do drinks can you do them on *not* friday as i wont be able to go! actu, i can only do thursday. (Isn't it amazing that i am still pissing about and not doing my essay, even though i've yet a 1000 words to go, not idea what to write next and 2 hours 20 minutes to write it in? I guess certain people who were in the house last night *can* believe this monuMental effort in procrastination. Last night I had 3 very strong cups of coffee. I slept badly, and awoke strangely alert and leapt out of bed. then fell over. Coffee does worse things to me than speed and at 2am last night I had to stop writing because I could no longer hold the pen. I need help. )I would like a drink though on thursday. Some glimmer of hope to keep me going. A glimmer of vodka. Uew.

alix (alix), Monday, 31 March 2003 08:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Was I that drunk on Friday Sarah.
(Actually don't answer that, I know I was - I later crashed someones house and KEPT DRINKING UNTIL 4am - ph34r my bouzing POWERZ).

Pete (Pete), Monday, 31 March 2003 08:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh Lixi. Keep going, you can do it, really you can. And then you can come out drinking! You off to ATP to hang out wit' Flava Flav on Friday then?

Pete you are an old soak.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 31 March 2003 08:45 (twenty-three years ago)

very true Gareth, not the 106. I mean the one that I used to get a lot that goes from Blackheath to Stratford, maybe the 108?

But I'm sure the north london line could be the one for you starry.

I was going to do a pre-ATP thing, yes, but the hassles of finding a venue and laziness have conspired against me.

Alix, I will call you re: Thursday tonight.

chris (chris), Monday, 31 March 2003 08:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Is ATP this weekend then? Hoom hoom Liz you are being very naughty tempting me to the lovely Prospect Golden Ale but this week aint the week for me. Lixi what are you doing on Friday then?

Sarah (starry), Monday, 31 March 2003 09:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Why do I keep ending every sentence with 'then' then?

Sarah (starry), Monday, 31 March 2003 09:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Is it because you is Northern then?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 31 March 2003 09:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Pete, you really were that drunk. Had you not been as amusing as you were I would be considering sending you to Coventry for a while (Yes I am in Malory Towers). Sarah, I think I am going to ATP on Friday. The essay, I am pressing on with. Chris I will expect your call, but still sound surprised when I answer the phone. It's just my way. Back to 'why are cochlear implants so controversial?' for me now.

alix (alix), Monday, 31 March 2003 09:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Errr because they are seen to interfere with 'indigenous' deaf culture and thus might be considered a patronising and overbearing artefact? Is this the issue that yr writing about? Have fun at ATP if I don't see you before then, Lixi.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 31 March 2003 09:49 (twenty-three years ago)

I think I ought to apologise then Lixi.
(Not 100% sure what for, but possibly 88% sure which if that's what it is I am almost definitely in Coventry for some reason or other).

I think I also called my film tutor naive earlier on

Pete (Pete), Monday, 31 March 2003 09:51 (twenty-three years ago)

I'll tell you some other time pete. thank you Liz I will have fun. You've also summed up my essay quite well.Chris, I spoke to my dad last night and he is posting some supplies for ATP you will be glad to hear.

alix (alix), Monday, 31 March 2003 10:02 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh I am,very, we have Thai whisky - Ph34r us.

chris (chris), Monday, 31 March 2003 10:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Aaaaagh are you taking the entire drinks cabinet? You know what happens when you start mixing terrifying cocktails, Chris. Thank goodness I'm not going to ATP this year - shall have to make do with picnicking in the rain on Primrose Hill.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 31 March 2003 10:28 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't know Liz, because I can never remember ha ha ha ha ha

chris (chris), Monday, 31 March 2003 10:29 (twenty-three years ago)

I shall be at the celebratory drinks in spirit only (studies show this is cheaper).

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 31 March 2003 10:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Hahaha drinks in spirit only. Yeah and vodka has fewer calories than beer also :)

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 31 March 2003 10:57 (twenty-three years ago)

pete, i have been feeling guilty about running away from the pub afeared of having to escort you home on the bus all weekend, and know i find out you didn't stop til 4, bah!

am learning tonite, and *so* need to write my frank's thing, so really going out this week is a bad thing, or i'll have DV to answer to...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 31 March 2003 14:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Many congratulations, Sarah! May the new job be delightful and your co-workers be not farm animals.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 01:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey, what happened to the celebratory drinks?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 2 April 2003 15:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Congratulations Starry! Your international fanbase rejoices!

felicity (felicity), Wednesday, 2 April 2003 15:22 (twenty-three years ago)

So is that a no on the FAP? Rats.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 3 April 2003 07:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Martin, look at the FAP Camber Sands thread - may be a pre-All Tomorrow's Parties FAP tonight somewhere in town.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 3 April 2003 07:24 (twenty-three years ago)

there is now a venue and time (sort of)
