This poster is on the wall in my bar. WHAT DOES IT MEAN?????
I thought I knew my -isms. And my cinema. And - for what its worth - my Forbidden City. As extra tantilization, it takes place in a non-existant room in my Uni, at an improbable time (8pm - consid'ring we shut at 9pm).

This is not necessarily true, but I can't think of another explanation.

Plumbism = lead poisoning by the way. A theory which occured to me is how lead poisoning from the ancient pipes in the forbidden city caused a high increase in the number of brain damaged and docile simpletons in this period. Hence the Forbidden CIty became known for its docility - and representations iof this in Chinese cinema could be used to excuse all sorts of repressive activity.
Either that or its a joke.
