What do you wear when you're goin out?

I wear the same clothes all the time. I never look shit nor swish. If I'm going out, I'll wear the best available everyday clothes that are clean. If I'm going to the supermarket, I do take care not to look too bad, but I'll probably wear my worst available everyday clothes that are clean. I look the same all the time, pretty much. Do you dress up when you go out? Do you wear jogging bottoms when you sign on? I'm keen to know.

There is a missing 'g' in the thread title. This was owing to a typing error, rather than hipness, which i nonetheless have in abundance.

Also, that 'i' should be 'I'. I know some people write it 'i'. But it was a mistake, and I admit it.

I always wanted a thread where it's just me, nagging myself. It has begun.

The same as I always wear, as seen in that other outfit thread.

Martin, you just ruined EK's thread!

teeny (teeny), Friday, 28 March 2003 20:39 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, since Martin already ruined it, here's my contribution:

I rarely get dressed-up. What I wear on the weekends is pretty much what I wear during the week. In fact, the only time I really do get dressed-up is when I am off to a fetish/leather event, and then, well, I go for the leather and corset and so forth look.

And at home? Hell, it's a clothing-optional house. Most of the time I'm in panties and a t-shirt. I hate wearing clothes. When I come home I am usually undressed within five minutes (which is why I hate having house-guests that I can't be naked or semi-nude in front of).

I wear a white polyester suit like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever.

I totally have an outfit for every occasion, v. mentalist-like. And I don't think I really realized it until you asked, thanks.

I want a going-out outfit that looks exactly the way Madonna's "American Life" sounds.

I rollover and what ever is closest to the bed gets put on.

brg30 (brg30), Friday, 28 March 2003 23:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Whenever I come back home I put on my "play" clothes. That way I can wear the out clothes more often and do laundary lkess often.

i generally dress the same whether i'm going out or staying in or just hanging round uni: the only difference being: mary janes usually, but big fucking drag queen platforms on stage.

di smith (lucylurex), Saturday, 29 March 2003 03:01 (twenty-three years ago)

i wear the same clothes pretty much all the time, but i wear extra-grungy clothes to work. i also don't go out very often. my general rule of thumb: don't wear anything that would make me think twice about sitting on the ground.

ron (ron), Saturday, 29 March 2003 04:58 (twenty-three years ago)

I wear whatever I have. I'm really not too fussed. It's funny, sometimes I'll be really down on myself and take about 4 hours to get dressed and I still end up in jeans and a sweater.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 29 March 2003 05:32 (twenty-three years ago)

i appear to wear the same thing all the time but i actually have multiple copies of the same outfit. this extends especially to shoes and trousers. i'm disappointed with my coats/jackets at the moment. i have one pair of shoes that i regard as my work shoes and i rush home and change them before i go out. my friends describe my style as natty. i'm looking forward to shopping overseas.

i just bought a brown tie dye top to go out tomorrow night in. it was not until i saw the till receipt where it was called a 'fancy jersey' that i realized how non-trés-cool it was. meh.

thudddd, Saturday, 29 March 2003 17:03 (twenty-three years ago)

I always try to look groovy when I go out, but then I worry that it looks too studied. Groovy should just happen, when it's too carefully done, it's, I don't know, pathetic. There. I've said it.

Skottie, Saturday, 29 March 2003 17:12 (twenty-three years ago)

how can tie-dye not be cool?
