James Blount (James Blount), Saturday, 29 March 2003 05:01 (twenty-three years ago)

stuff like this makes me wanna break my boycott

jess (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 29 March 2003 05:06 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah, I kinda came back after the Lakers-Kings series last year (though nothing compared to when I was kid and writing Stan Kasten letters demanding the Hawks retire Tree Rollins number). T Mac - AI - KG - Kobe; the post-Jordan era's in full swing enough that I can't gripe 'these guy's couldn't carry John Battle's jock' anymore. Plus March Madness always raises my interest in anything basketball considerably.

James Blount (James Blount), Saturday, 29 March 2003 05:16 (twenty-three years ago)

heh, it would also help if i had a tv!

i suppose my resolve will break down next season and i'll be back in full swing

jess (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 29 March 2003 05:17 (twenty-three years ago)

heh, ESPN's actually showing a fucking Mavs game right now instead. I saw this online

James Blount (James Blount), Saturday, 29 March 2003 05:25 (twenty-three years ago)

50 now. But they say he might sit the rest out. Good to see you Blount.

bnw (bnw), Saturday, 29 March 2003 05:30 (twenty-three years ago)

It's because of the hazelnuts.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 29 March 2003 06:21 (twenty-three years ago)

man, now i know why i hate nutella so much

jess (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 29 March 2003 06:22 (twenty-three years ago)

how can you hate nutella? It's like god came down and said, here you go, some nutella.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 29 March 2003 06:25 (twenty-three years ago)

didn't he do that for everything?

jess (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 29 March 2003 06:26 (twenty-three years ago)

not with those elements at the bottom of the periodic table; fucker tried to welsh on those

James Blount (James Blount), Saturday, 29 March 2003 06:41 (twenty-three years ago)

is the game over? what was the final score?

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Saturday, 29 March 2003 06:42 (twenty-three years ago)

and how many points?

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Saturday, 29 March 2003 06:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Listen, he did it special with nutella, ok? I mean, it's chocolate and it's hazelnuts.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 29 March 2003 06:42 (twenty-three years ago)

108-94; Lakers won natch, Kobe finished with 55 so they musta sat him. oh well. they could at least let him top 60.

so does Kobe own a piece of Nutella or does it come from growing up in Italy or what? cuz no way Nutella has the bank to get an endorsement from Kobe the traditional way.

James Blount (James Blount), Saturday, 29 March 2003 06:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Maybe Kobe just really digs Nutella. I mean, I'd endorse them for like free.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 29 March 2003 06:48 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah, that's kinda what I think, that him and his agent were discussing endorsements, nike vs. reebok (there was a time I coulda told what every top nbaer wore, even that weird brand ewing just made up), and he said 'I wanna do nutella, make sure you get me the nutella account. and I want lots of free nutella out of it. I want a nutella jersey too.' I'm waiting for t-mac to get a jif deal.

James Blount (James Blount), Saturday, 29 March 2003 06:52 (twenty-three years ago)

you think the nestle people just got shaq by driving a truckload fulla crunch bars up to this porch?

jess (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 29 March 2003 07:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 29 March 2003 07:30 (twenty-three years ago)

well, i guess it'd depend on how big the crunch bars were -- were they 'fun-size'?

geeta (geeta), Saturday, 29 March 2003 07:32 (twenty-three years ago)

the big aristotle luvs him some crunch bar

James Blount (James Blount), Saturday, 29 March 2003 07:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Nutella rox.

i don't like Kobe very much as a person, but it's hard to deny that he's having a once-in-a-lifetime great season. so i'll give him that much credit.

Tad (llamasfur), Saturday, 29 March 2003 08:30 (twenty-three years ago)

would you give him the MVP?

James Blount (James Blount), Saturday, 29 March 2003 08:35 (twenty-three years ago)

sure. nothing less would be churlish!

Tad (llamasfur), Saturday, 29 March 2003 08:41 (twenty-three years ago)

anything less, i meant

Tad (llamasfur), Saturday, 29 March 2003 08:51 (twenty-three years ago)

He's incredible.

It's been fun watching him grow up. Remember when he missed those shots in the playoff game his first year? Seems like ages ago. He's an assassin.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Saturday, 29 March 2003 08:51 (twenty-three years ago)

kobe, Japan?

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 29 March 2003 09:17 (twenty-three years ago)

sure - he's already conquered Italy and America, why not Japan?

James Blount (James Blount), Saturday, 29 March 2003 09:43 (twenty-three years ago)

fuck nutella (?!?) i prefer Meli honey-chocolate paste.

nathalie (nathalie), Saturday, 29 March 2003 14:40 (twenty-three years ago)

four months pass...
sigh

nnnh oh oh nnnh nnnh oh (James Blount), Wednesday, 13 August 2003 19:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Has there not been a recent Bryant thread yet? I was actually thinking of starting one.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Wednesday, 13 August 2003 19:21 (twenty-two years ago)

i had a friend in college who had a girl dump him for kobe bryant.

amateurist (amateurist), Wednesday, 13 August 2003 19:23 (twenty-two years ago)

a FLING with kobe bryant, mind.

amateurist (amateurist), Wednesday, 13 August 2003 19:23 (twenty-two years ago)

The racial dynamics being overlaid on this thing are such complete horseshit but sadly inevitable.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Wednesday, 13 August 2003 19:25 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, it is oj part 2, down to the jackass prosecutor

nnnh oh oh nnnh nnnh oh (James Blount), Wednesday, 13 August 2003 19:28 (twenty-two years ago)

with the exception that by this point I was pretty sure oj was guilty, whereas with kobe I still don't know anything (the difference in the natures of the crimes I guess)

nnnh oh oh nnnh nnnh oh (James Blount), Wednesday, 13 August 2003 19:30 (twenty-two years ago)

The racial dynamics being overlaid on this thing are such complete horseshit but sadly inevitable.

Cause and effect of celebrity: The only ones who either know the whole truth....or can alter it to suit their purposes....are Kobe and his accuser. Everyone else is just extra jam.
