Do you have posters on your walls? How do you affix them to the wall - scotch tape, sticky tack, pushpins? Do you have those poster hanger things, or do you put them in frames? Is it (as was once posited to me) juvenile to have things taped to your walls when you are over the age of 20?

Frame'em. They'll look better. Believe me.

Posters are great. I don't have any posters. Someone buy me a few posters for my new room.

I have quite a few posters but don't put them up anymore. Currently the only poster/flyer type things up are a bunch of Dunedin ones from my visit.

In my music room, I have posters & pictures & lyrics & song lists & all sorts of stuff taped/push-pinned up. I had a couple big posters in there in frames, but they were rattling audibly when I was recording drum tracks, so I got rid of 'em.

I've got posters in my music room, in my upstairs small room ("The Chillin' Chamber" as one feller dubbed it), and my son's got a couple up in his room. I've got stuff hanging on the walls of other rooms, but not really posters: some big hippie/Indian tapestries, a bunch of Alphonz Mucha (sp?) pics-of-ladies in the kitchen/bathrooms, some really cool photos my friend Shilesh made...stuff on the walls of your home = classick.

I have an Unknown Pleasures poster I had framed a few years ago... didn't have anywhere I wanted to put it in my apartment so I mounted it in the large walk-in closet and announced to roommate, "Hey, check it out... we're closet Joy Division fans." She just groaned.

I had a lovely array of framed, vintage Punk posters adorning the walls of our former haunt (including the Stranglers, the Stooges, the Clash, the Soft Boys, Killing Joke, Cop Shoot Cop and the Plasmatics), but the new place just has lower ceilings, so very few of them are making the cut...being sadly relegated to Manhattan MiniStorage. They'll see walls again someday, I swear it.

didn't we do a thread on a similar subject a couple months back?

I've got on my bedroom walls (until Friday which is packing day): Ghost gig poster; Kentucky calendar; Cajun in Your Pocket toy (see below); Yellowstone Buffalo warning flier (see below); Joseph Jarman As If It Were the Seasons poster; Ted Williams' autograph to me and my brother (framed); Steve Keene painting of Zachary Taylor; maps of Barcelona, Grenada, Chicago and New York; Angus MacLise poster; found apology note; NNCK Riverside Park gig poster.

Oh yeah, I've also got a gigantic (prob'ly 6' wide) Bucky Fuller Dymaxion Map up in my music room. My favorite thing on my walls.

That one was about posters you have on your walls, this one is was supposed to be about general postering practice. I've been using pushpins and tape, myself.

I'm pretty much done with 'em. I used to cover my walls with them but now when they fall, they fall. I wanna put up fine art now. And plants.

These posters ARE fine art.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 00:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Soon Anthony will put up nothing but old Nagel prints and neon, or else will put up Michael Flately posters and Riverdance designs (if given the choice between the two approaches, I would suggest the former).

I promise to put up pics on ILE if this happens.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 00:59 (twenty-three years ago)

If Alex sent me rare Killing Joke posters I'd COVER my walls with them.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 01:34 (twenty-three years ago)

I have a ton of posters all neatly folded and put away; pinning stuff up on my wall won't cut it anymore. I actually haved several framed pieces sitting in the closet that I don't have room to hang. The only poster I currently have hanging is a framed, original one-sheet for "Black Sunday". I am really on the lookout for the promo poster Chrysalis put out to promote Blondie's "Autoamerican". I'm going to frame it with a yellow frame and hang it in the kitchen.

Sean (Sean), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 02:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Frames - lots of those cheap old frames. In my bedroom it's pretty much posters of famous old nudes. And well, there's acutally a lot of nudes in most of the artwork in this house. Come to think of it, the kitchen is the only room where there isn't a nude hanging on some wall. Freaky.

I've several poster-tubes filled with space-related posters (one of the joys of working for the space program - everyone is always giving away oodles and oodles of cool posters). I just don't have room to hang them.
