don not buy the papers the pictures are too terrible. WSJ is good it has no pictures.

The same reason why i get most of my news from BBC world service. Does anyone know anything about the Pittsburgh flight ?

The report on MSNBC (link on other thread) details a cell phone call in which the caller describes 'some sort of explosion' with 'white smoke coming from the plane' before contact with the caller was lost and the plane crashed. This ties in with the reports I heard on TV that the plane had an 'encounter' with US Air Force jets. The plane was believed to be heading for Camp David or the White House.

The passengers may have overcome the terrorists then crashed the plane accidentally because the pilots were already dead by this point. The terrorists claimed, according to the caller, to have a bomb on board, but it's extremely unlikely they actually did, which leaves the question of what that explosion actually was.

I think the authorities are keen for a possible US Air Force involvement in the destruction of a US civilian plane to be played down at this point, and all the media are playing along.

There have been very breifly mentioned reports in the UK that there were 8 (eight) planes hijacked in total. The suspicion being that the US Air Force shot down 4 of them(possibly 5?) once it was clear what was inended for them. This tallies with reports yesterday just after the first three attacks that more planes were in the air and off- course. It could of course be rubbish, but who knows?

sorry to ad to disinfo (weirdly, disnfo.com is down) but why isn't the car bomb outside capitol hill being talked about, and the first explosion, before the plane hit, at the pentagon?

That is not disinfo Geoff . That is questions . That and the questions momus brought up need to be adressed.

Reports last night of a van being intercepted on one of the bridges in NY. Initially they said it was packed with explosives - Giuliani said this wasn't true at a press conference soon after, but the three (?) men inside were taken away for questioning. Any more on this?
