Because history isn't just about the times when we were good people.

I'm glad somebody cracked.

there is some stencilled joey deacon graffiti on southgate road. it is unclear whether it is by the makers of 'i love the 1980s'

Maybe Joey Deacon went bad.

Oh no - he died.

That's not "Oh no - I just found out"

I almost thought Peter Miller might have started this thread.

I still think that he may well contribute to it.

There is no way JD was on I Love The 80s.

He fucking was!

I feel like my generation are destined to fail, just because we didn't get the full meaty goodness of Joey on Blue Peter while we were growing up, and had to rely on elder brothers making "spaz" noises to know his steed.

I can't believe I have no recollection of this....

The very antithesis of "political correctness gone mad" to be found here

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 20 June 2003 08:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh. My. God. That website is horrible. Must be getting a lot more sensitive in my old age.

I remember at School the rumour going round that he had died when he was taken out on a boat by Blue Peter and had rolled off the back on his wheelchair and drowned. From that site it would appear that he merely lost a shoe overboard.

Certainly he was up there with John from the tourette's documentary in feeding the playground with jokes and the chance for inappropriate impressions.

Tourettes = not the funniest disease/illness on the world anymore. Now replaced by.....

ALIEN HAND SYNDROME

chris (chris), Friday, 20 June 2003 10:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh god that's website is horrible. I must admit i have been avoiding this thread as I too am getting more sensitive in my old age, but how bad were we all as a generation?!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 20 June 2003 10:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I am still bad I fear. I was reduced to tears by the thread-starter and others on the subject of JD in the pub last week and just now have been biting my lip at the "ferret farm" post on the Candles For Laura website.
