Robert Fisk's reporting: now members only

Throughout the war in Iraq, I have relied especially on Robert Fisk's articles online, at the Independent web-site. Now I find that the Independent is charging a special subscription fee for the viewing of those articles. While I can understand that nothing is really free, it's very frustrating that this shift has occurred. I have seen at least one of these subscription-only articles turn up on one or two other web-sites providing a leftist take on the news, but I'm not sure how long that will last. I'd be more inclined to just buy the Independent in hard copy, if I'm going to pay for it, but I'm not sure if it's sold near me, or how much it would cost here (in the U.S.).

He has certainly been key reading of late, if only at the newsagent's shelves.

'as somebody who's oppressed and exploited reporters, I can TOTALLY UNDERSTAND them wanting to rip me off'

er...isnt robert fisk a bit of a dick? i stopped buying the independent during the war because i was so tired of seeing the first 5 pages as a HUGE picture of his head and 'exclusive Robert fisk reports' covering each and every page whole page...

Does that make him a dick? I like his reporting a lot. He often reports from situations which are not being covered elsewhere. I imagine the giant head and so forth is the newspapers idea.
