what does that mean "Staff Volunteer?"
I mean, what's more American than wantin' to get PAID?

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 25 June 2003 15:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I am involved in a camping organisation. Once about 15 years ago we accidentally picked up a guy destined for a god bothering camp in a mix up at a station with lots of camps leaving at once. He stayed the whole fortnight and never went back to jesus camp.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 25 June 2003 15:46 (twenty-two years ago)

ed.
i think yr camp would rule.
could i come ?

anthony easton (anthony), Wednesday, 25 June 2003 15:50 (twenty-two years ago)

hell yeah (we'd have to train you and check yr police record and you have to provide a few references, but yeah)

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 25 June 2003 15:52 (twenty-two years ago)

i'd make a good kamp counselor

Here's some objectivity:

If you cling to religious "belief" you're a moron and a liar. You hate people. You wanna spread misery amongst the population cos you prefer it to independence. You have no rational reply to this paragraph. You hate life, love.

Why does my IQ changes? (noodle vague), Thursday, 14 September 2006 23:22 (nineteen years ago)

sheesh, the hardline. Puts my complacent, shallow, tolerant 'agnosticism' to shame, but I won't be the one dodging bullets all night (even if I'm the one who deserves to). Deep down, I know you're onto something, NV, in theory, but in practice things are IMO a reasonable amount more complicated than that.

Obvious Ninja (Haberdager), Thursday, 14 September 2006 23:35 (nineteen years ago)

Slave morality, dude, abject slave morality. I'm only 3 course mealy-mouthed sobre.

Why does my IQ changes? (noodle vague), Thursday, 14 September 2006 23:36 (nineteen years ago)

LOVE GOD = HATE PEOPLE

watch the people haters leap in and confirm

Why does my IQ changes? (noodle vague), Thursday, 14 September 2006 23:37 (nineteen years ago)

actually, agnosticism is less of a 'belief' than atheism. :P although i appreciate that it might make me an easier target for god-botherers (in fact, it won't, but in theory it might...)

can i find 'slave morality' on wikipedia?

Obvious Ninja (Haberdager), Thursday, 14 September 2006 23:41 (nineteen years ago)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slave_morality

That article's fairly inaccurate. On account of it being on Wikipedia and all.

Why does my IQ changes? (noodle vague), Thursday, 14 September 2006 23:49 (nineteen years ago)

dude, it's all about master morality. (is that what you were tryina say?)

My first thought when I saw it was "Hezbollah in America"

A-ron Hubbard (Hurting), Thursday, 21 September 2006 22:05 (nineteen years ago)

I'm beginning to feel like "If you don't have strong beliefs, someone else will."

A-ron Hubbard (Hurting), Thursday, 21 September 2006 22:09 (nineteen years ago)

I like the kid who says, "I was saved when I was five.. .because I just thought I needed a change" or something ridiculous like that. When you're 5? Come on kid! (Kid appears to be 8-ish now).

Butt Dickass (Dick Butkus), Thursday, 21 September 2006 22:09 (nineteen years ago)

what happened when Jesus Camp lady called into the Ed Schultz show on tuesday

kingfish prætor (kingfish 2.0), Thursday, 21 September 2006 22:14 (nineteen years ago)

Woah! Her Jesus Camp is located at "Devil's Lake?" What the fuck?!

Butt Dickass (Dick Butkus), Thursday, 21 September 2006 22:16 (nineteen years ago)

Haha, everything is a misunderstanding. The camouflage is just a metaphor. The swords are just a metaphor. Die for God is just a metaphor. We're not supporting Bush, we're just praying for him. It's not political cause it's in the Bible.

A-ron Hubbard (Hurting), Thursday, 21 September 2006 22:40 (nineteen years ago)

i was pretty depressed nearly all day yesterday and most of today for having watched that ABC news report on JESUS CAMP. worst part of all, though not actually, was how they introduced that lady as being "a secular, liberal feminist from new york city"

nine months pass...

Finally saw this. Ted Haggard was maybe the scariest thing in it.

Rockist Scientist, Sunday, 15 July 2007 00:59 (eighteen years ago)

(Is harrassing camera-men a typically right-wing thing? I'm thinking of the "macaca" incident.)

Rockist Scientist, Sunday, 15 July 2007 01:02 (eighteen years ago)

Judging by Street Fight, I'd say no.

Hurting 2, Sunday, 15 July 2007 01:29 (eighteen years ago)

Well, not exclusively right wing anyway.

Hurting 2, Sunday, 15 July 2007 01:29 (eighteen years ago)

(Why do I never learn how to spell harassing? Make up your mind English! Either use lots of extraneous double letters all the time or don't use them at all.)

I went to a militaristic Jesus Camp in 7th & 8th grade. I look at the notes I took during those sermons and get a little terrified that this place is still open.

"be willing to be RADICAL for christ no matter what the world says"
"every day you are a soldier behind enemy lines be prepared to DO BATTLE"
"which side will you be on?"

BIG WORLD HOOS. WEBSTEEN. (BIG HOOS aka the steendriver), Wednesday, 3 December 2008 02:20 (seventeen years ago)

This place is training missionaries and teenagers who go back to their public schools believing that the people around them are unrepentant enemies.

BIG WORLD HOOS. WEBSTEEN. (BIG HOOS aka the steendriver), Wednesday, 3 December 2008 02:21 (seventeen years ago)

Omg, are all these jeebs thread that got revived started originally by the same dude?
