I've heard rumors that the big T-shirt/leggings look is going to be inflicted on us again. Oh God, no. The only woman I've ever seen that ever looked good in one had a figure like a Barbie Doll.

there was a list of current fashion trends in the melbourne age the other day. apparently rolled up sleeves are back!!!!!!? this is surely up there with the lacing of shoes.

This never went away in suburban America. Someone is clearly on crack.

Mullets and acid-washed jeans are definitely coming back. They're the trendiest thing around in Stockholm right now. Oh shit!

Mini black designer logo backpacks, the kind that the John Favreau character in Swingers is supposed to be all happy about if the girl is wearing.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Sunday, 21 September 2003 08:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I'dve said mullets and the worst 80s offenses like ra ra skirts, 3/4 leggings and fluro everything... but seeing half of chapel street seem to be parading about in exactly that, as well as bands like fannypack and chicks on speed, I see it's somehow become fash. Sorry girls - you look fucking stupid.

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 21 September 2003 08:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Last night on Pop Idol some bloke was wearing stone-washed jeans, a grey knitted tanktop with a stripey shirt, and a pale pink tie hanging out over his tank top. He also had hair like Nick Heyward c. 1983. The sleeveless t-shirt, mullet and acid-washed jeans combo was also in evidence on another contestant, and the bloke who won through to the final was dressed like Rick Astley (stone-washed jeans, blue and white stripey t-shirt, navy blazer).

And as Trayce said, the window of Topshop etc are a testament to all that was shit about the 80s just now.

I blame Geri Halliwell.
