Fix My Switch

I have an old Shure mic whose switch has always been unreliable. Now it seems totally broken. The switch has three positions - low & high impedance, and off - and in all of them the mic produces a loud buzzy sound (I can still hear my voice through it though). If I put the switch at a point between the three positions, so nothing is selected, the buzzing goes away. So it's definitely the switch at fault, am I right? Also, the buzzing gets a lot louder if I touch any part of the mic.

Does this sound like some kind of common problem that I may be able to fix myself? I've been prodding randomly at the insides with no success.

go to radio shack or similar and get a replacement switch of a similar type. desolder the old switch and resolder a new one in place.

Damn, I need to do soldering? How much would it cost to pay someone else to do it?
