The LEMONADE project

Okay, so I'm on a fresh-squeezed lemonade kick at the moment. Here's my plan: Juice a whole bunch of lemons, mix in a quarter cup sugar for each cup of juice, zap it in the microwave a bit, stir, and refrigerate.

Then when I want lemonade I can just mix about three parts cold water to one part chilled, sweetened juice.

So I'm going out for the lemons now, and I'll check the thread again when I get back in case anyone thinks I've got the proportions way off. (Or if the thread just dies, at least I'll have a nice glass of lemonade to console me.)

Why do you need to microwave the mixture? (I'm not criticising your recipe here, just expressing ignorance.)

(Back from the lemon-buying trip.)

Maybe I don't need to heat it? But my first lemonade experiment a few days ago (a single serving) was just lemon juice, water, and granulated sugar, and it ended up pretty sour with sugary sludge at the bottom. So I thought the heat will help it dissolve. The problem now will be having the patience to allow it to chill; I suspect my first glass will be lukewarm.

I leave out the sugar but I like sour things.

Ed is hardcore!

But for sweeth-tooths like me, I'm happy to report the recipe works great.
