Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:25 (twenty-two years ago)

It's 1.23 pm in the world of PP's work. she is sitting at her pc waiting for the results to come thru.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Come to my job; do my work.

NA. (Nick A.), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:26 (twenty-two years ago)

all those options sound wonderful. but London is hot and grimy and ultra-busy so perhaps more enjoyable on a cooler day. personally i'd go for the seaside, or maybe Alton Towers if you got enough time and cash.

stevem (blueski), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe you could buy you b/f a big pressie as he sounds great

Someonewhoisntjames (james), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:28 (twenty-two years ago)

go to alton towers quick, before the schools break up.

chris (chris), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah I wouldn't fancy London in this weather. It's got to be the seaside!

Archel (Archel), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:29 (twenty-two years ago)

well you see Someonewhoisntjames I would do that, but he is very mean to me, if he sees I've posted this, he'll make me sort through his trainers & relace them all & send me to bed without any Big Brother action. How mean is that?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:30 (twenty-two years ago)

We have an annual pass to alton towers, so it wouldn't cost us a penny!

(hey archel!!)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:31 (twenty-two years ago)

go to alton towers! i wish i lived in england so i could go there for the day.

angela (angela), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:32 (twenty-two years ago)

seaside...it's going to be really hot tomorrow! better to go to alton towers when you won't fry in the sun waiting for rides.

colette (a2lette), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:33 (twenty-two years ago)

seaside is high on the list - but where we live in Cambridge so we have the norflok suffolk coast at our disposal or we could venture down to essex

james (james), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:34 (twenty-two years ago)

You two should get up early and drive to the Avebury Stones in Wiltshire with a large picnic hamper, some weed, beer, a large comfy rug, maybe a guitar and a radio and after walking round the site find a quiet spot (there is a good hill towards the back of the North Cove I think) and lay down until the stars come out.

Alex K (Alex K), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:34 (twenty-two years ago)

i can play my generation on the guitar so thats a good idea i reckon

james (james), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:35 (twenty-two years ago)

haha - honestly, it's beautiful down there mate. If you do it though, you have to go all the way and do a spot of stone listening.

Alex K (Alex K), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey Alex, that sounds pretty cool. I wonder if we could get the train tho, so I could partake in the other fun stuff you suggested!! 8-)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I think Pinkpanther and James are the UK Sarah and me.

NA. (Nick A.), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes we are NA, aint life grand eh?!! (btw, I am Sarah's namesake aswell! heh heh!)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:46 (twenty-two years ago)

However, maybe we should leave the guitaww at home hun eh?!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Go on a hot air balloon- I always wanted to do that.

Nellie (nellskies), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:51 (twenty-two years ago)

bbbut wiltshire needs my hot licks

james (james), Monday, 14 July 2003 11:54 (twenty-two years ago)

That's a fair point!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Seaside. Have you got a car? If so youve got the whole norfolk, suffolk and essex coasts at your disposal.

Ed (dali), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh yeah we have, but it means I can't enjoy numerous pints in the sun! Obv I am being very selfish about this, but I do like to drink!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Cromer, Gt Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Clacton and Walton on Naze are your seaside chocies by train.

Ed (dali), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Seaside seaside seaside!

It's way too hot for Alton Towers.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:27 (twenty-two years ago)

If you get two trains you can go to Brighton!

Archel (Archel), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Well I have Thursday and Friday off. Thursday's Emma's 21st, so we'll either go to a nice pub for lunch or take a picnic to Spitchwick (beautiful, unspoilt part of Dartmoor with a river that's great for swimming in), and then go to a club in the evening. On Friday I think Emma's working at some stage, so I'll probably pick up my bottle of water and camera and go walking, probably to Dawlish Warren, where I'll walk straight past the beach and holidaymakers out onto the nature reserve/dunes, head for the back of the spit and the bay of the mouth of the Ex and skim flat pebbles into the calm river waters. Last night I managed about 8 bounces.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:33 (twenty-two years ago)

this weather + alton towers = battling scary wasps by the bins

has to be the seaside really

j0e (j0e), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I was thinking maybe Clacton Ed! Hmmm brighton, mmmm! *starts thinking*

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Cheers Ed btw, you're a star!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:35 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah the wasps suck - well sting actually

damn if we took two days off we could have a mucky mid-weeker in Brighton

james (james), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Nick: the only good bits of Dartmoor are the spoiled bits.

Also: throwing stones at the mouth of an Ex is generally considered bad form.

Tim (Tim), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:39 (twenty-two years ago)

depends what she did

james (james), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Not if you get them to bounce off her teeth.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey people, focus! mmmm mucky mid-weeker in brigton!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:42 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.lastorders.com/images/images_products/1197_lg.gif

that's gotta hurt

j0e (j0e), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Brighton, meh. I'd head for yarmouth or lowestoft if i were you.

Ed (dali), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Can u have a mucky day in Gt Yarmouth?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Of course you can. Better fish as well.

Ed (dali), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:55 (twenty-two years ago)

What will happen if they don't fish?

Tim (Tim), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:56 (twenty-two years ago)

then we will chip

james (james), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Aye that's trooo Ed! (not really sure why i just did that in a cameron style voice still.)
One of the reasons we wanted to go to the seaside was for fish & chips!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)

If it’s the seaside, then Boscombe could be fun. I mean it’s hideous in a dilapidated, old conservative hide-away sort of way but that’s kind of part of the fun. It’s all bizarre timewarp pubs and cafes, a rickety old pier and a great sandy beach, which shouldn’t be too busy because nobody in their right mind goes to Boscombe. You’ll need to take distractions of course but it’s a strange ole place. The cliffs overlooking the beach are climbable in places and you can walk across the top of them and look right out across the bay. And if you get too bored/freaked out you can always walk up the beach to Bournemouth, which is a little more alive.

By the way, Avebury is reachable via train to Swindon, which is about 9 miles away and then you could either cab or bus it across to the stones.

Alex K (Alex K), Monday, 14 July 2003 13:20 (twenty-two years ago)

We live in Cambridge, so I reckon these may be a little bit too far away!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 13:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Brighton has no sand. This is a dud point on hot days.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 14 July 2003 13:30 (twenty-two years ago)

V true Matt, I def want some sand I reckon!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 13:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Boscombe - motivate the rythm of life

Alex, you forgot to mention that in the summer Boscombe is full of scousers who go down there for the summer to sign on and cause mayhem.

chris (chris), Monday, 14 July 2003 13:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't notice that Chris - when I've been there I've been too busy keeping out of the way of the locals themselves.

Pinkpanther and James - have you been to the cave at Royston?

Alex K (Alex K), Monday, 14 July 2003 13:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I live just down the road from the Pike and Eel and the the Green Dragon, both of which have lovely riverside locations. I don't know whether this is an FAP or a vote for the seaside.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 14 July 2003 13:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Alex - no we haven't, details pls!
PJ - not a fap, just wondering what we can do. Do u live in C********n?

having said that, what a great idea to have a fap at the seaside! yay!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 13:54 (twenty-two years ago)

PJM: living in Contrition since 2002. And possibly longer.

Tim (Tim), Monday, 14 July 2003 13:58 (twenty-two years ago)

heh heh! He will know what I mean if he lives where I think he does!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 13:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, I do. 'Old' C********n. F** Road, no less. I'm down with my homies.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:03 (twenty-two years ago)

seaside FAP.......... it wil be like an Eastenders on location episode or that only fools and horses where they go to Margate

james (james), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

PJM what do you do in Cambridge?? work, rest and play wise

james (james), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Get up really early and have a day trip to France. Or the Isle of Wight.

C J (C J), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Heh heh, we were gonna looked at a house near there recently!! So were u living in Newmarket b4hand?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:07 (twenty-two years ago)

seaside FAP.......... it wil be like an Eastenders on location episode or that only fools and horses where they go to Margate

And your point is....? It would be great! Seaside fap anyone?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:07 (twenty-two years ago)

they are the best episodes - loadsa fun and with novelty hats

james (james), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:13 (twenty-two years ago)

The cave at Royston is not too far from you in Hertfordshire, and it’s like this odd bell shaped joint in this small town which was discovered when they dug up the high street in 17something. It has all these mad medieval carvings and sculptures, beautiful depictions of the Crucifixion, St Catherine, St Christopher and St Lawrence, on the walls and is thought to have been used by the Knights Templar in the thirteenth century as a secret storage chamber and chapel. The Templars were an order established to protect pilgrims to Jerusalem and they had their headquarters near to Royston. Unfortunately for them, they were later declared heretics at the end of the 13th. Google Royston Cave and have a look. It’s pretty much the only one of it’s kind in the world – but I’ve just got paranoid that it’s only opens weekends and holidays so actually, maybe forget about that, do it another time.

Alex K (Alex K), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Cheers Alex, that does sound v interesting. Not to worry if it's closed during the week, I am sure we'll check it out some other time.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Alex, I lived in Bournemouth/Boscombe for 4 years, Boscombe was a complete hole back then, but cheap to live in and packed with Second-hand shops, oh and the Academy (now the Opera House) nitespot.

chris (chris), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Time served dude. Did you ever do the Academy? The closest I managed was this basement bar where the manager was a friend of a friend and plied with all sorts of toxins. Accidentally turned into a huge bender that one - two nights falling unconscious on the benches in this bizarre little bar, and far too much of everything. Driving back up to the big city was quite a good laugh actually. I got to witness a friend scale the cliffs on the seafront on a horrendous hangover after he lost the pack cut. Afterwards he thought he was having a heart attack - I've rarely seen someone look so done in nor laughed so hard.

Alex K (Alex K), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Newmarket fell through (fortunately). I am working at a langauage school, but only for two more weeks (fortunately). My hobbies are walking along the river, cycling along the river and applying for unsuitable jobs.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:50 (twenty-two years ago)

i have decided for my next cambridge based job to lie through my teeth and do something good rather than my current poo job

james (james), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, close call with that Newmarket thang dude! Cambridge is sooo much better! We'll all have to hook up to have our own lil Cambridge fap!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Alex, The academy on a Thursday did a poound a pint for us Students so yeah, we certainly went, it was chart dance hell, apart from a room at the top called the black hole or somesuch whcih had black walls and was filled with smoke and strobes and played the likes of Altern-8 all night. I had a lot of fun in there.

Basement bar? I bet that was alcatraz, were the walls covered in spiky artex? It was bloody dangerous.

We spent most of our time in the hot house, up near the station.

In summer it was fantastic to cycle down to the beach and go swimming after a club night, especially cycling through Meyrick park in the pitch blackness.

chris (chris), Monday, 14 July 2003 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)
