Evoking Childhood Memories

Today I was working on a conservation journal where one of the articles had line drawings of mice in it. This reminded me of an Aesop's Fables book I had when I was a kid which had the story abt the mice who wanted to put a bell on the cat. One of the mice in the journal even had its paws over its face like the mouse in the book which complained that it was too old to bell the cat.

What have you seen in a book, on TV or wherever recently that has reminded you of your childhood?

Rereading The Martian Chronicles did that for me, actually, thinking back to when I was eight and first heard it being read to me in fourth grade.

A couple of weeks ago, when I was bored, I read and old Three Detectives novel I happen to own. That brought me back; some of those stories really spooked me out when I was, like, eight. The Famous Five would probably evoke even more memories.

We watched Mr. Mom this past weekend. I remember watching it quite a few times growing up. It was the movie my parents would always rent with other adults came over and they'd all laugh a lot. My mom would always fastforward during the strip show scene, but Nick pointed out there's quite a lot about extramarital affairs going on in the movie too, which I didn't realize at all when I was little!
