Seriously, I Love Film would be a real shaking board if the film threads would be there instead of here?

C/D?

Girolamo Savonarola, Tuesday, 15 July 2003 20:41 (twenty-two years ago)

We could, but be prepared for folks to be confused for a while...

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Tuesday, 15 July 2003 20:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I could use some loving too

Leee (Leee), Tuesday, 15 July 2003 20:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Meet me ILF, Leee, and I'll sex you up.

Girolamo Savonarola, Tuesday, 15 July 2003 20:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I could use some loving too

Couldn't we all, couldn't we all...

j.lu (j.lu), Tuesday, 15 July 2003 20:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I feel bad about this, since I really championed the creation of ILF, proceeded to post to it for several weeks, and then have blatantly ignored it since. Maybe I'll check it out again...

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 15 July 2003 20:55 (twenty-two years ago)

haha well, it will take time. I still think there will be movie buffs who will only use ILF and so on. we'll wait and see.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Tuesday, 15 July 2003 20:59 (twenty-two years ago)

The loving has been used.

Girolamo Savonarola, Tuesday, 15 July 2003 21:12 (twenty-two years ago)

The filmic courtship of Girolamo Savonarola and Leee

Girolamo Savonarola, Tuesday, 15 July 2003 21:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I've posted there some, but I'd still rather it all came back here.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 15 July 2003 21:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Why? The reason it's not busy is because almost all it's content gets posted at ILE instead.

Girolamo Savonarola, Tuesday, 15 July 2003 22:00 (twenty-two years ago)

it's = its

Girolamo Savonarola, Tuesday, 15 July 2003 22:01 (twenty-two years ago)

If Martin says he wants it hear I don't understand why we're still talking.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 15 July 2003 22:02 (twenty-two years ago)

(It looks so anal to make a correction but that one was so bad I'd rather be thought pedantic than an ignoramus)

hear = here

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 15 July 2003 22:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I really think ILF should be on the main page. It would be a great resource. Can we try this?

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 15 July 2003 22:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm assuming he is kind enough to care about what others think too, that's why.

Girolamo Savonarola, Tuesday, 15 July 2003 22:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I second Spencer.

Girolamo Savonarola, Tuesday, 15 July 2003 22:04 (twenty-two years ago)

You do not sound very chirpy.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 15 July 2003 22:05 (twenty-two years ago)

ILF is on the main page.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 15 July 2003 22:08 (twenty-two years ago)

"If only God would give me some clear sign! Like making a large deposit in my name at a Swiss bank."

Girolamo Savonarola, Tuesday, 15 July 2003 22:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Andrew. Is it safe to go in there alone?

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 15 July 2003 22:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm assuming what was meant (at least what I meant) was to make it a main board, not an "other" board.

Girolamo Savonarola, Tuesday, 15 July 2003 22:09 (twenty-two years ago)

ILF is on the main page.

but with it's own "new questions/new answers" at ilxor.com and appearing in the upper right of all threads.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 15 July 2003 22:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Mother-board as opposed to out-board?

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 15 July 2003 22:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Er?

Girolamo Savonarola, Tuesday, 15 July 2003 22:11 (twenty-two years ago)

ilf feels like it needs a circa 2000 ilm

Josh (Josh), Wednesday, 16 July 2003 02:25 (twenty-two years ago)

What ILF needs is a mother.

Leee (Leee), Wednesday, 16 July 2003 02:49 (twenty-two years ago)

MILF?

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 16 July 2003 02:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Look, I already obsessively read two message boards, and now you're trying to push a third on me? If you really loved me, you'd understand that I can only do so much.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Wednesday, 16 July 2003 02:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Good grief, I only offered an opinion! I don't like the fragmentation. Had ILM not been the parent, I wouldn't have wanted that to split off, and I see no reason why Film needs a board of its own any more than TV, books, football, art, comics or sex. I like the multiplicity and breadth of interest and subject matter here, and don't want it to become compartmentalised. That doesn't mean I'll shun ILF - I've posted there quite a few times - but I don't think many threads have been as successful there as they have been and would be on ILE. I also don't see 'main board' status as something to be given to boost a board, it's a recognition that ILM and ILE were enormous and of a different order of magnitude than the others.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 16 July 2003 11:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I only ever look at ILE and ILM. I get brainache if I ever go to any of the other boards. Because my brain is small and easily stretched. I wish I had more hours in the day to read stuff.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Wednesday, 16 July 2003 11:58 (twenty-two years ago)

one year passes...
seems to be averaging about 4-5 posts per day.

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 22 May 2005 01:13 (twenty-one years ago)

i think i erred on the generous side there.

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 22 May 2005 01:19 (twenty-one years ago)

it would be cool if there was a NEW ANSWERS page that combined all of your bookmarked boards, maybe even with a different colour dot for threads from different boards. I guess there'd be an easy way for me to do this myself using the RSS feeds, but i'm dumb.

Slumpman (Slump Man), Sunday, 22 May 2005 12:41 (twenty-one years ago)

ILWWE operates on about 10 posts a week, but those posts are nothing but quality*

(*- "quality" meaning "snarky comments about the break up of Matt Hardy's marriage and his subsquent descent into madness)
