poss trig bruv mooted for one of the other evenings?

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 17 July 2003 09:52 (twenty-two years ago)

plus on one of the other eves at least i am i hope whisking her away to meet legendary non-existent mark s IRL posse (sistrah becky, dr vick, rub mob etc)

plus possibly she has off-ilxor plans and acquaintances of her own

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 17 July 2003 09:52 (twenty-two years ago)

TRIG BRUV 3 provisionally arranged for the Saturday which is August the Second.

The rules for this year are, as ever, a carefully guarded secret. Suffice it to say that it will be a back-to-basics TB but Big Brother may have a few surprises up the sleeve of his baggy jumper.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 17 July 2003 10:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm sure Davina Tico will have more to say about this in due course.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 17 July 2003 10:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Plus she might have to do actual work for the post-rock watchers council.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 July 2003 10:08 (twenty-two years ago)

so geeta can come off the plane and straight into trig bruv 3 (if it goes ahead)!

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 17 July 2003 10:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes the question is: who gets to carry a message in the other direction...?

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 17 July 2003 10:18 (twenty-two years ago)

plus possibly she has off-ilxor plans and acquaintances of her own

bbbut what do you mean? *cries*

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 17 July 2003 10:21 (twenty-two years ago)

"Back to basics" = "Pete won't win it this year either"

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 17 July 2003 10:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Can I fatuously suggst some really poncey bars to FAP in.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 17 July 2003 10:24 (twenty-two years ago)

You could, but I think it would be futile.

RickyT (RickyT), Thursday, 17 July 2003 10:26 (twenty-two years ago)

you've had two strikes Ed, why not go for the third ;o)

chris (chris), Thursday, 17 July 2003 10:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I might not be playing TB this year, if Tico is Davina, surely we need a Dermot for the far superior Trig Brothers Boozey Brother coverage.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 17 July 2003 10:47 (twenty-two years ago)

oh no! wedding! oh no!

i have a wedding to go to on 2 august, but after my frankly piss poor efforts in the last two years i'm not that bothered ;)

maybe a separate TB (and TBBB) thread is required

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:02 (twenty-two years ago)

RickyT would be a good Dermot!

Cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:05 (twenty-two years ago)

!

RickyT (RickyT), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm back from hols on the 6th so I hope to make Freaky Trigger. Meeting Geeta is U+K, obv.

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Trig Brother's Dodgy Uncle?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Dodgy uncle! Anyone else care to cast aspersions on my character?

RickyT (RickyT), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Trig Brother's "Yorkshire Cousin"

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought of BBDU before cozen suggested Ricky, but I'm lazy.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 July 2003 12:02 (twenty-two years ago)

you'd rather be on horseback

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 17 July 2003 12:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Please remember that Geetafest coincides with Nickstock: Londinium FAP August 7th.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 17 July 2003 12:05 (twenty-two years ago)

erm no it doesn't, as geeta is not technically available on the 2nd or the 7th

(geeta to thread!!)

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 17 July 2003 12:08 (twenty-two years ago)

One of the many many great things about Club Freaky Trigger is that it's in an almost empty bar and down the front of the bar the music isn't exactly high volume so for FAP purposes it's quite good too.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 17 July 2003 12:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I wasn't casting aspersions.

Cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 17 July 2003 12:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Please note that Nickapalooza is contiguous with Geetafest.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 17 July 2003 12:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll be at trig bro, though in my heart I am calling it "I am ilxor get me out of here". I'll be free that week.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 17 July 2003 15:01 (twenty-two years ago)

It would be great if Geeta turned up to Trig Brother 3 - she could arrive late, like Lisa, and otherwise not be anything like that at all. FT Club Nite 2 sounds even more U&K, if such is possible, if Geeta is to be there. I think a quiet talking-type FAP might be good too, in between these. I am very keen to meet Geeta.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 17 July 2003 17:10 (twenty-two years ago)

i can make it to trig (wtf is it?!) but i'm gonna be hella tired and jet-lagged that day :(

come on dudes you know you wanna fap! i don't know what days are best for you all -- but any day i am in town in the range (2,7) is fine

hmm i forgot my math -- [2,7] is inclusive and (2,7) is exclusive right?!

gah

geeta, Thursday, 17 July 2003 17:15 (twenty-two years ago)

trig bruv = pub crawl with complications, loosely based on Big Brother

RickyT (RickyT), Thursday, 17 July 2003 17:17 (twenty-two years ago)

It's an excuse for spending most of a day boozing.

The obvious time for a 'quiet' FAP if we're TB-ing on the 2nd and dancing on the 6th is the 4th, I'd say.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 17 July 2003 17:22 (twenty-two years ago)

big brother is a tv show i take it?

anyway yeah what is up with this club nite action!! trife will be there as well; i am bringing him from america in a suitcase

geeta, Thursday, 17 July 2003 17:23 (twenty-two years ago)

are there any entertainments you'd like to see outside london? I am unemployed and have a car (I don't come with the pete baran tour guide seal of approval though)

Ed (dali), Thursday, 17 July 2003 17:39 (twenty-two years ago)

in the uk we store suitcases on the end of a rotten pole stuck out of the window over a pool filled with crocodiles

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 17 July 2003 17:39 (twenty-two years ago)

club nite action:

http://www.freakytrigger.co.uk/pictures/FT2.gif

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 17 July 2003 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

haha tom that list rules!

and ed i am psyched! i've been to london three times before but i've never gotten to see much outside of the city itself -- it would be cool to take a drive one of the days i am there (as far as a destination goes i have no clue! any ideas?)

does the 4th sound good for the fap then?

geeta, Thursday, 17 July 2003 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

won't be able to turn up as it is my birthday but have a good time.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 17 July 2003 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I can make the 4th, but it probably means that I won't make the 6th, I'm strange like that. But, I may try to make it.

So, is TB definetely on the 2nd? Shouldn't there be a new thread for this?

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 17 July 2003 18:47 (twenty-two years ago)

feel free to include in Trig Bruv the pub the Bugged Out massive will be in on Saturday night - somewhere round Holborn way (venue confirmed tomorrow)

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 17 July 2003 18:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Depends what you want to see. We have a whole variety of castles, stately homes, preserved railways, beautiful countryside, pretty towns, country pubs and all sorts around the south east. Tell me what you want to do.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 17 July 2003 19:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Depends what you want to see. We have a whole variety of castles, stately homes, preserved railways, beautiful countryside, pretty towns, country pubs and all sorts around the south east. Tell me what you want to do.'

Ed (dali), Thursday, 17 July 2003 20:02 (twenty-two years ago)

N.TP, Nicktonbury, N. in the Park.

Cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 19 July 2003 08:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Should you go to Brighton? Or Bromley?

Mary (Mary), Sunday, 20 July 2003 12:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Margate, the combination of the two.

Ed (dali), Sunday, 20 July 2003 12:18 (twenty-two years ago)

(different nick)

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Sunday, 20 July 2003 13:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Why Bromley Mary? I mean if I had 5 days in London, I wouldn't go to Bromley. It's just a town.

jel -- (jel), Sunday, 20 July 2003 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

b-but it's where billy idol comes from!!

mark s (mark s), Sunday, 20 July 2003 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

do they have one of those blue hertiage plaques? That'd be worth seeing, I guess.

(have I used the wrong plaque?)

jel -- (jel), Sunday, 20 July 2003 16:08 (twenty-two years ago)

For most people, plaque; for Billy Idol, plague.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 20 July 2003 18:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Geeta = Bowie = Bromley. And Hanif Kureshi? Yet, if Margate can re-enact scenes from "Last Orders."

Mary (Mary), Sunday, 20 July 2003 18:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Bromley is a rubbish middle-class suburban shithole made worse by the usual teenage town centre scum hanging around like a bad smell. It's even worse on a Friday or Saturday night, when all the geezers and geezerettes come down from Downham and Eltham and places to go on the razz. It's horrible. I can't think why anyone would want to go there.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 21 July 2003 09:30 (twenty-two years ago)

It is also UTTERLY DEVOID OF CHARACTER.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 21 July 2003 09:31 (twenty-two years ago)

This seems like a perfect reason to got there. Bromley = 85% of the rest of the British Isles.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 21 July 2003 09:33 (twenty-two years ago)

hey!! i am in an internet cafe in NYC (i won't have net access installed at my new place in NYC until thurs or so, so it's hard to post these days!)

ok i have no idea about bromley (but i heart billy idol)

ed wherever you want to drive to is your call -- everything you listed sounds cool -- castles sound especially k-rad though! i will pay for the gas (wie sagt man auf Englisch..."petrol") and stuff obv.

also what is manchester like? i am fascinated by the idea of going there for a day.

geeta (geeta), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 19:18 (twenty-two years ago)

manchester is good but virgin trains and network rail may conspire against you doining it in a day.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 20:41 (twenty-two years ago)

revive!!

geeta (geeta), Monday, 28 July 2003 07:35 (twenty-two years ago)

So many threads about Manchester now! Obviously this is a GOOD THING.

Try these:

This one,

this one,

and this one.

Tag (Tag), Monday, 28 July 2003 08:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Do we have plans for any evenings between the Trig Brother and FT club nite extravaganzas?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 28 July 2003 11:58 (twenty-two years ago)

yes, me buying Vicky a lovely birthday dinner, but sorry Martin, you're not invited ;o)

chris (chris), Monday, 28 July 2003 12:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Martin there was talk of drinking on the 4th.

Tom (Groke), Monday, 28 July 2003 12:03 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah well its on this thread martin.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Monday, 28 July 2003 12:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, it seemed rather tentative. No matter, I'm sure plans will crystallise.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 28 July 2003 21:23 (twenty-two years ago)

You could always go to the GB Beer Festival. There will be much perry.

RickyT (RickyT), Monday, 28 July 2003 21:36 (twenty-two years ago)

on the 4th there will be some kind of fap! err i have no idea about location just yet! any ideas?

if i don't see you there i'll see you all at FT club nite!

geeta (geeta), Tuesday, 29 July 2003 07:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh not the 4th. Actually the other thing I have to go to starts at 4, so I can come to the FAP later. I am already missing Trig brother, so other fAP attendance is needed.

Anna@toby's (tsg20), Tuesday, 29 July 2003 09:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't make either Trig Bruv or the FT Club Nite so a FAP on the 4th would be greatly appreciated.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 29 July 2003 09:35 (twenty-two years ago)

FAP on the 4th it is. I might be frenziedly getting stuff ready for the FT relaunch so I don't know how much I can make but I'm there on the 2nd and 6th so it's no great loss.

Tom (Groke), Tuesday, 29 July 2003 09:37 (twenty-two years ago)

i can't do the 6th (will be in france) but *might* try the 4th - having to get up at 4 the next morning may dissuade me, though.

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 29 July 2003 09:51 (twenty-two years ago)

i'll be at 4th and the evening part of trigbrother, trying for the ft night also

gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 29 July 2003 09:59 (twenty-two years ago)

JUST DON'T GO TO BED!!!

also GBBF U&K, if not necessarily for this fap, i think we should make the effort to go this year

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Tuesday, 29 July 2003 10:01 (twenty-two years ago)

What - can we play shoot the CAMRA members?

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 29 July 2003 10:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I am going with work on the 7th, but I know Sarah's keen to go.

RickyT (RickyT), Tuesday, 29 July 2003 10:05 (twenty-two years ago)

suggestions for good venues for 4th drinking action?

geeta (geeta), Thursday, 31 July 2003 05:29 (twenty-two years ago)

la grave maurice!

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 31 July 2003 06:02 (twenty-two years ago)

For the traditional FAP experience it should be a) in Soho or Fitzrovia and b) a Sam Smith's pub. John Snow? Glasshouse Stores? Bricklayers?

RickyT (RickyT), Thursday, 31 July 2003 08:01 (twenty-two years ago)

The Champion.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 31 July 2003 08:02 (twenty-two years ago)

And then there's always the Spanish Bar

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 31 July 2003 08:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah let's do The Champion.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 31 July 2003 08:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I like the Champion, a good post-shopping pub, and the windows are great.

chris (chris), Thursday, 31 July 2003 08:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Last time we FAPped in the Champ there was a schism. (Good)

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 31 July 2003 08:18 (twenty-two years ago)

which one is champion again?

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 31 July 2003 08:19 (twenty-two years ago)

was that the pig sex time?

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 31 July 2003 08:19 (twenty-two years ago)

It was the pub where we talked about pigsex for an hour and a half, Gareth.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 31 July 2003 08:20 (twenty-two years ago)

HAHA best X-Post Evah!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 31 July 2003 08:20 (twenty-two years ago)

could you narrow it down a bit?

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 31 July 2003 08:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Serious answer

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 31 July 2003 08:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Also Mark C's story re: his shameful past as a petty thief had me in stitches as I recall.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 31 July 2003 08:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I remember laughing so hard my guts hurt but I don't remember the actual stories, curses.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 31 July 2003 08:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Aw, Geeta gets the Tottenham Swan treatment too.

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 31 July 2003 08:46 (twenty-two years ago)

IT BEGINS TOMORROW I AM SO PSYCHED!!

my flatmates (= six tiny snails, a woodlouse and a centipede) still exhibit surprising sang froid, but i guess they have their legs to think abt, or lack of them

mark s (mark s), Friday, 1 August 2003 13:58 (twenty-two years ago)

FIE I missed getting trans-Atlantic pressies to her in time.

Be good to our geeta!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 1 August 2003 14:22 (twenty-two years ago)

We could tae her to see the cricket on monday however I fear England may have lost by then.

Ed (dali), Friday, 1 August 2003 14:24 (twenty-two years ago)

no we don't want her to be depressed ed.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 1 August 2003 14:25 (twenty-two years ago)

she could support south africa, hey presto deppression avoided.

Ed (dali), Friday, 1 August 2003 14:27 (twenty-two years ago)

no we don't want her to support south africa. my brother is doing that already and I don't want to go back home.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 1 August 2003 14:29 (twenty-two years ago)

At this point I'm considering it.

Ed (dali), Friday, 1 August 2003 14:32 (twenty-two years ago)

You better treat her neat-ah, she's sweet-ah!!!

*large hook appears from offstage*

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 1 August 2003 14:48 (twenty-two years ago)
