how can it be Thursday already? HOW?

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:22 (twenty-two years ago)

This week has gone by pretty fast. That usually happens to me when I have a lot to do, but this isn't the case this week and it has still gone by very quickly.

Larcole (Nicole), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:32 (twenty-two years ago)

...you move too fast!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:32 (twenty-two years ago)

It's invoicing week. It can't go fast ENOUGH. In fact, I wish it were next week, cause then I'd be leaving on holiday tomorrow. Sigh.

kate (kate), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Weeks can go as fast as possible, so long as it slows down for weekends.

This year seems to have flown by though, it's quite scary.

Vicky (Vicky), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:37 (twenty-two years ago)

everyone says this from time to time...is it just getting faster and faster or what? does it only seem like this when your life is not eventful enough? the days blur into each other for me, it could still be Monday.

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I agree, the past year has flown by, I wonder where it went!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I think time feels like it goes faster the older you get. *sigh*

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:40 (twenty-two years ago)

can we slip in an extra few working days before the weekend please? I have fuckloads to get done for tomorrow (and yet I am posting here natch)

j0e (j0e), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:41 (twenty-two years ago)

this has been the slowest week i've ever had - then again it's been shite, so that's probably why...

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Thursday, 17 July 2003 11:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Time does go faster the older you get. In that a year is a much smaller proportion of the time you've already spent on this earth when you're 30 than when you're 6.

But wahhh, this week is NOT going fast.

Archel (Archel), Thursday, 17 July 2003 12:25 (twenty-two years ago)

All day today I thought it was Wednesday. Imagine my shock. This is so weird.

Andrew (enneff), Thursday, 17 July 2003 12:34 (twenty-two years ago)

It's almost next year!

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 17 July 2003 15:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Why is it not already December? A) Christmas B) Four of us have staged a grand storm of our office by all quitting in unison C) CHRISTMAS! D) snow and my red coat E) Did I mention christmas?

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 17 July 2003 15:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you ruining your workmates' surprise five months in advance?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 July 2003 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Well the people who we're surprising don't know how to use computers. Or coffeemakers. Or copy machines. Or filing cabinets. Etc.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 17 July 2003 15:21 (twenty-two years ago)

what do they know how to do????

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 17 July 2003 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Go right down to Electric Avenue.

NA. (Nick A.), Thursday, 17 July 2003 15:23 (twenty-two years ago)

"Ally & co have left us! But they left us the secret of FIRE!"

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 July 2003 15:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Ha ha. My boss can't use computers AT ALL! THere's no way in hell he'd ever find ilx, much less learn how to search on it. What a dumbnut!

And he just asked me, "Sarah, Get me a calculator!" And I said, "I don't have one, I use the computer." So he had me do a bunch of calculating for him on my computer as he couldn't figure out how to use his own.

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Thursday, 17 July 2003 15:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Andrew, they already had the secret of fire, evidenced by them blowing up the A/C and not letting us leave. They also know how to leave potato chips all over the floor.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 17 July 2003 16:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't want it to be Xmas yet, I need to get my car fixed and find a job, WTF

Millar (Millar), Thursday, 17 July 2003 21:03 (twenty-two years ago)

What, do you hate fun or some shit? CHRISTMAS! I love Christmas! I made the bomb cookies, they are like cookies made by heaven but then everyone eats them and I get none, wtf is that shit? Also key: eggnog and Rockefeller Center Xmas tree. I find gifts embarassing though, which is the difficult part of Christmas. My cousin used to roll around in the used wrapping paper when we were done opening gifts. He was 32 at the time!!

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 18 July 2003 02:36 (twenty-two years ago)

i can't believe its been a week since i started this thread.

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 24 July 2003 18:15 (twenty-two years ago)

The miracles of technology....and prolly the fact we are starving for witty conversation

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Thursday, 24 July 2003 18:21 (twenty-two years ago)

same time next week then? ;)

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 24 July 2003 18:21 (twenty-two years ago)

These days are going by like molasses frozen in a casing of tar running through an hourglass moving at a very large fraction of C.

I can't believe you are all experiencing the total opposite. Must be the stress.

I hate fucking Christmas.

Millar (Millar), Thursday, 24 July 2003 23:33 (twenty-two years ago)

But oh, the orgasms.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 24 July 2003 23:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't like it when people don't like Christmas.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 24 July 2003 23:46 (twenty-two years ago)

weirdest Ned post ever...

stevem (blueski), Friday, 25 July 2003 00:07 (twenty-two years ago)

TS, fucking as adjective vs. fucking as verb

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 25 July 2003 00:08 (twenty-two years ago)

TS - sound of penny dropping vs sound of nickel dropping

stevem (blueski), Friday, 25 July 2003 00:14 (twenty-two years ago)

i'd just like to copy and paste that Ned post onto all manner of other threads so everyone could enjoy it in some foreign context

stevem (blueski), Friday, 25 July 2003 00:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Stevem I put it to you

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 25 July 2003 00:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned Raggett in missing-punctuation surprise!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 25 July 2003 00:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Some periods don't need marking.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 25 July 2003 00:23 (twenty-two years ago)

must...resist...

stevem (blueski), Friday, 25 July 2003 00:27 (twenty-two years ago)
