BASSCAR

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 17 July 2003 22:17 (twenty-two years ago)

However, since that doesn't exist, I vote for bass fishing because its rules require drinking. Don't they?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 17 July 2003 22:18 (twenty-two years ago)

NASCAR can involve drinking,in fact it should be made compulsory.Even going round an oval track can be made interesting with the addition of some strong sauce.I'd pay good money to watch that!

I vote bass fishing because it has an awesome magazine

Millar (Millar), Thursday, 17 July 2003 22:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Bass fishing because bass contains the complete word ASS in it (take the B off of the name at the top of the BASSMASTERS start page and have yourself a good chuckle), and because the fisherpeople put the fish in a LIVE WELL, which is a funny phrase to say with a funny voice.

Actually, that whole fucking site is awesome if you change bassmaster(s) to assmaster(s).

I fell asleep at the one Winston Cup race I've been to, and still don't 'get' it. At least other forms of racing are trashier, and thus more fun (dirt-tracks 4ever), or better to watch because they have to turn BOTH ways (die die die Michael Schumacher).

But, having also suffered through years of bass fishing until I got old enough to turn down family vacations...

In the Battle of Hillbilly Hobbies, there are no winners.

More carnage happens in NASCAR. When is the last time you heard of a fisherman sustaining any serious injuries?

Don't ask me to choose, Tombot

imagine if you could go to fishing tournaments and pay for a set of special headphones to listen to the guys in the boats at work

El Tomboto, Friday, 7 March 2008 00:46 (eighteen years ago)

also no coincidence that that car is the NUMBER ONE

El Tomboto, Friday, 7 March 2008 00:47 (eighteen years ago)

You know I do that, right?

felicity, Friday, 7 March 2008 00:49 (eighteen years ago)

There are bass fishing tournaments in the lake in the infield at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Kerm, Friday, 7 March 2008 01:08 (eighteen years ago)

ok I kind of have to draw the line there because holding tournaments in man-made lakes is missing the point just a little tiny bit.

El Tomboto, Friday, 7 March 2008 01:10 (eighteen years ago)

and TBH since I started this thread lo so many years ago I have learned that fly fishing is truly the greater art

El Tomboto, Friday, 7 March 2008 01:11 (eighteen years ago)

Oh wow that is cool. I wish I had known that when I went to Miami Homestead last November.

felicity, Friday, 7 March 2008 01:19 (eighteen years ago)

yeah dude fly fishing @ homesteadz is kind of the bomb!

El Tomboto, Friday, 7 March 2008 01:19 (eighteen years ago)

I was getting pretty excellent at my cast and then it was time to pack up and go home ;_;

El Tomboto, Friday, 7 March 2008 01:20 (eighteen years ago)

shh . . . you'll scare the fish away

felicity, Friday, 7 March 2008 01:29 (eighteen years ago)

Does Tracer live in Paris? Does he hang out on the steps of the Montmartre? Was he a witness at the theft at the musee de Picasso (sp/...?)? Does he eat crepes with Nutella and bananas? Does he wear a stripey shirt and curse indie kids who have absconded his uniform and way of life? Does he smoke a pipe? Does he take his wife for a night out on the town? Does he wander down back alleys? Does he still get lost in the crooked streets around the Gare du Nord? Does he whistle the Marseillaise?

youn, Friday, 7 March 2008 01:38 (eighteen years ago)

Absconded was misused in the sentence above.
