Peter Engel Comedies - obscured childhood memories?

You know which ones I mean. Saved By The Bell, California Dreams, Malibu CA, City Guys, etc. I saw one today called USA High, but it seemed more or less exactly the same as the others. I remember as a kid thinking the original Saved By The Bell was quite good, but I haven't seen it for ages. Was it? Am I looking through rose-tinted glasses? I saw a SBTB: The College Years double bill a couple of weeks ago but it was pretty rubbish as there was no Mr Belding, who was my favourite character.

Saved By The Bell definitely had the best theme tune.

But it totally didn't fit the show. You have this dreamy Hasselhoffish sun ballad for a theme tune, you'd expect Dawson's Creek at the beach, not Saved By The Bell part II.

The USA High theme is really rubbish. It's just jock-rock and one bloke singing "rockin' at USA High" again and again. Maybe it obscured my view of the show. I'm not sure.

ummm... ALOT of things "peter engal" dont fit the show. anyway my friend BooksonTape was an extra a while back on one of the Engal sat. morning shows. i said "everyone on set knows they are making silly crap right?"" and Books was like "no man.. they all have pony tails and high five eachother after each scene!"
