This got the worst reviews I've ever seen, and everyone I know who saw it hated it.

But it's so much better than the first BWP!

It's different. I don't know if it's really better or worse ... the first movie didn't live up to its hype (what does? Okay, Ned, LOTR. That's about it, though), the second movie is way better than its reviews. Both are middle of the road horror movies of the same basic sort: weird things happen, enough exposition is provided to feed theories if you feel like making them, there are ultimately no explanations, and the most frightening things are the things the characters see and the audience doesn't.

I liked the second one better because I didn't have to sit through shakycam and because I had no real expectations at all. The whole "we see one thing, but then the video recording shows us something else" thing was creepy, and creepy's about what I look for.

It sure is. I can't believe how many times I've heard people say that the 2nd one was a "typical big budget disaster" while the first one "did it all the way it should be done" on such a tight budget and so creatively!

Blah.

The first one sucked. The second one actually scared me.

I haven't seen the second one. But I loved the first one.

Ned lives up to his hype? Maybe.

I love the 2nd one because how many times have you killed a convenience store clerk and forgotten about it the next day?
