So. Should HSA shave off his beard?

Sitting by the canal in the sun, HSA turned to me and said "I think I'll shave off my beard because it is so BLOODY HOT."

I looked at him aghast. And (half-jokingly) said that I'd dump him if he turned out to be ugly beneath it! He retorted that he would make me sign a contract that agreed that if I didn't like it, I would stay with him until the beard grew back.

This is very strange. Normally, I am very anti-beard, but HSA's beardiness is so very much a part of him that I can't imagine him without it. But now I am wondering what HSA looks like underneath the beard and think that he should experiment. (I mean, it will grow back after all.)

Regardless of what you think about beards (no need to have another Tom's Beard thread?) what do you think about this? If you meet someone and fall in love with them under one set of physical characteristsics, is it wise to change them?

And would a drastic change in appearance in your beloved (not just the growing of facial hair, but cutting off all their hair, getting fat, growing bald, and other such shallow things) cause you to love them less? And is this shallow?

kate (kate), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:14 (twenty-two years ago)

(And what if HSA shaved off his beard, and I was delighted with the result, but he hated it, and wanted to grow it back? What then?)

kate (kate), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:15 (twenty-two years ago)

it sounds like you'll stay with hime anyway kate... let him do it and if he hates life w/out it but you like it, then reach a compromise by getting him to grow a massive gay handlebar moustache...

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Hi kate! At the end of the day you love him anyway. You may well indeed prefer him one way, but he prefers the other way. Just tell him which u prefer & that's pretty much all u can do. My boy looks better with stubble/beard, but then he prefers it like that. I also prefer him with longer hair, but he has it shaved off every now & then. But hey, it's his hair, he is entitled and all that! *mumbles*

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I think he will probably look good without the beard, and besides which, he looks good with it, so EITHER WAY KATE WINS.

Maybe you can negotiate towards HSA not cutting his hair while he has no beard, just to see how much of a DDB he can possibly be.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:19 (twenty-two years ago)

All this time I've been living under a pretense, believing him to ba a Handsome Sound Artist when in actual fact it turns out he's a Bearded Sound Artist?!

Shave.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:22 (twenty-two years ago)

HSA has not cut his hair since the last time that he did and I mourned so sulkily for it. (I am trying to train him out of washing it, but every week or two he gets fed up with it.)

He has stuck with me while I got fatter and fatter (in fact, worryingly, he seems to delight, because my arse and my tits have enlarged) so I will stick with him regardless of what he does to his hair. (Because really, I love him for his oscillators and not his dirty hair alone.)

kate (kate), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I've put shed loads of weight on since being with my boy! It's just contentment i guess. I guess it's just all about looking past all that.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't wash my hair for four years once. I started again at Emma's bequest.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm trying to get Emma to put on weight by feeding her salmon with incredibly fattening lemon & dill sauce, and thick wedges of birthday cake, but she's still a rake with hips.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Insanely, I cut my hair very short just after Matt and I started seeing each other. But it never occurred to me that it could affect how he felt about me - maybe subconsciously I knew that if we were going to stay together for a long time, that would be the most minor of the changes that I might go through. Anyway he took it in his stride and has done every haircut, weight gain and mood swing since.

Archel (Archel), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I winced when Emma had her fringe installed, and she winced when i shaved my head compleetly, but generally we're ok. It's just each others' shoes we can't stand.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Nick - are you a feeder?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:32 (twenty-two years ago)

It's funny, because HSA does definitely express the things he feels about my appearance - but in positive terms, rather than negative. If I wear my hair down, he will go on about "Oh, your hair looks so pretty when it's around your shoulders" rather than saying that he'd dump me if I cut my hair off. And there are certain clothes that, if I wear, he will say things like "Oh, you look nice today, plain clothes really suit you" (instead of saying things like "I like you in black slinky things and hate your hippie gear!" which is probably what he means").

So I suppose I should exercise the same tact and caution with regard to his appearance. Because although obviously, I *do* think he's very handsome and there is a huge physical attraction, in a strange way, I'm attracted to him because he is *him* rather than because he's attractive. That probably doesn't make any sense.

kate (kate), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh my God. Um, that sounds so bad. I guess I am.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:34 (twenty-two years ago)

*shakes head at nick* ;-)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Emma's only attracted to me because I bought her a hot bear and a vibrator for her birthday so she need never see me again.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Matt is TOTALLY a feeder and I love it! Yum! ;)

Archel (Archel), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:36 (twenty-two years ago)

It doens't work though, Pinkpanther, cos Emma's got a tiny belly and thus only ever eats half of what I'm trying to feed her with! Which means I eat the rest and, despite walking loads and playing football and almost stopping drinking (compared to my old days) I can never shift my fat arse and gut!

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:38 (twenty-two years ago)

i think it's a good sign when women put on weight (not like loads but... y'know) when yr with them... means they're comfortable...

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha, oh yeah it's the best! My boy loves me to eat, which is great, cos i do love to eat!! when I'm having a 'i am so fat day' he is always real good at making me feel better about myself! he is great about things like that!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Surely there is some computer programme whereby you can scan in a picture of yr loved one and then see what they would look like sans beard or with different hair cuts or on fat days or even what they might look like when they were 65. If such a programme does not exist, someone should invent it.

C J (C J), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Get him arrested and use the police's program that does that!

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:46 (twenty-two years ago)

i'd be more worried if any girlfriend of mine was constantly checking her weight/appearance etc as i'd kinda wonder why - generally if i want to be w someone its about a bit more than the way they look and i guess that's ort of what kate's getting at...

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:47 (twenty-two years ago)

if he was arrested they don't need to do that nick coz he'd be in the station... you need to report him for a string of con jobs on pensioners and say he uses a variety of aliases, then they'll put it on crimewatch and we can all see and give kate a real objestive judgement, too... job done

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Of course, if it's a good relationship, that sort of thing doesnt matter!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Good point Dave.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:51 (twenty-two years ago)

You obviosuly have more experience of Police Stations than I do...

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:52 (twenty-two years ago)

nah just crimewatch... my luck's holding out thus far...

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Monday, 21 July 2003 08:52 (twenty-two years ago)

This thread is completely "Yes, my boyfriend/girlfriend has completely taken themeselves out of the maarket, it's great. If something happened now, it'd be years before they were back in shape, years!"

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 21 July 2003 10:21 (twenty-two years ago)

i think that is true of me, but def not of my s/o. We are both comfortable with each other & have truly relaxed. We dress & style ourselves the way we want, not to impress a potential future partner. It's just about being confident in your relationship that u can be exactly the way you want. Your statement couldnt be further from my mind!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 10:32 (twenty-two years ago)

its true i do look like a hotty at present

james (james), Monday, 21 July 2003 10:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Sigh. They just made me sit through a TWO HOUR LECTURE... I MEAN PRESENTATION ON NOTHING when I could have been reading and contributing to this thread.

I'm wondering... to what extent is the changing of one's physical appearance "taking oneself out of the market"?

HSA has started to put on quite a paunch since we got together - to the point where his mum commented! I said that his fatness was a signifier of the fact that he had a Misses taking care of him, and that it meant I was feeding him well. Or something.

kate (kate), Monday, 21 July 2003 10:35 (twenty-two years ago)

i am fatter and my family have commented that i look great since pinkpanther (calling her that feels weird still) and i got together - my jeans dont fit quite as well anymore but i love it - i have love handles - love handles rule the skool

james (james), Monday, 21 July 2003 10:37 (twenty-two years ago)

james - pls be constructive!
kate - i totally agree, my boy has put weight on & i think it's great. I dont think i 'take care' of him any better than he could take care of himself, it's just that alot of spare time is taken up with food (i.e. picnics, going out for dinner, quiet nites is with takaways etc) & the fact that comfort & contentment often brings some weight with it for some reason!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 10:39 (twenty-two years ago)

oops x-post! sorry! (u can call me by my name now as i have outed it several times recently, deliberately & accidentally!)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 10:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I see HSA's weight as "happy weight". Which is funny, because I'm more accepting of my own weightgain as "happy weight". Cooking, eating out, drinking - all these things are shared activities with HSA that signify dating, family, enjoyment, etc.

While the previous weightgain I experienced - which worried me greatly - was comfort eating weightgain.

The end result is the same - love handles and ill fitting jeans - but the method by which we got there means that I'm more accepting of that weight.

We just have to learn to view exercise activities - walking, hiking, etc. with the same association of couplehood and family.

kate (kate), Monday, 21 July 2003 10:42 (twenty-two years ago)

For some reason we always 'talk' about doing exercise together, but sadly we only usually stick to one form of this, which doesnt seem to shift weight! Sometimes u need an extra incentive, what that could be though, I have no idea! I thought that planning to have a baby & getting fit before I fall pregnant might do it, but as yet, a big fat nothing! I lost half a stone & then put it straight back on! damnit!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 10:47 (twenty-two years ago)

(I was just being mean)

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 21 July 2003 11:19 (twenty-two years ago)

*sobs*

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 11:21 (twenty-two years ago)

(by which I mean bitter)

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 21 July 2003 11:23 (twenty-two years ago)

It does make sense, though, Andrew. And I kinda like that meaning - in that the person is comfortable within the relationship. It doesn't mean that they totally let themselves go, but that they are comfortable enough not to have to be in top mating form all the time.

It happens in other ways, too. HSA & I both used to go to bars and gigs and things a lot more than we do now. We've both stopped, or to some extent slowed down because we don't need to go out and engage in mating displays and meet new partners. I'd rather stay home and drink with HSA - it's cheaper, and he is much more entertaining than most drunks you meet in bars.

I wonder if the beard-shaving thing is similar. HSA has said that he grew the beard because he thought he looked "gawky" without it. Maybe he's comfortable enough with me to let me see himself looking gawky. (A scenario to some extent confirmed by his reaction to my joking about dumping him if he turned out to be ugly beneath it.)

kate (kate), Monday, 21 July 2003 11:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I shaved my sideburns off for the first time in 10 years a few months ago at the request of my wife. When I came out of the bathroom, she cried. She missed them.

Chris V. (Chris V), Monday, 21 July 2003 11:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I agree with this 100%. We chill loads more than ever. All nighters & the like seem to have left us both now!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 11:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Ack! This just reminds me! I must be present for shaving to make sure that HSA doesn't shave his sideburns as well! I personally think he should go for a sort of Wolverine look. Mmmmm.

kate (kate), Monday, 21 July 2003 11:33 (twenty-two years ago)

She requested you shave your sideburns? Kill her. Emma daren't mention mine!

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 21 July 2003 11:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Though i did just trim them wich skizzerz last night cos they were getting unruly. I need a haircut.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 21 July 2003 11:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Damn, I need a haircut.

Whatever would I do for my monkey ritual-preening of HSA if he didn't have a beard? It is my endless entertainment to take a little pair of scissors and schnippen die schtraggleren!

kate (kate), Monday, 21 July 2003 11:38 (twenty-two years ago)

It was an experiment, I've had them since we've been together and never shaved them. She wanted to see what I looked like without them. I looked like an idiot. Oh I grew them back immediately, bushier and longer than before. And Im rockin the mullet right now, I need a haircut as well.

Chris V. (Chris V), Monday, 21 July 2003 11:39 (twenty-two years ago)

(Where are the Anti-Beard Consortium to tell me that I should be encouraging this facial experimentation?)

kate (kate), Monday, 21 July 2003 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Look, stenc, I've *BEEN* on tour. I know what it's like. And it is STILL better than working in an office doing data fucking entry and being surrounded by people so fucking stupid that they can fuck up data entry.

kate (kate), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:03 (twenty-two years ago)

oh and back to the subject at hand: I think he should shave. Not for aesthetic reasons, but because it's hot as hell to have a beard in the summer. I was gonna grow one on tour, but I've chickened out. I mean, I know Britain is on like the same parallel as Edmonton (hi Anthony!), but still, it's too hot. Imagine being in Arizona with that shit, jeez, it'd be bad....

(okay, gotta go now kate, take care...)

hstencil, Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, the heat was the main issue of why he wanted to shave. Which I think will be the clincher. He can have a seasonal beard.

Try to enjoy the rest of yer tour... and even when it gets you down, just remember that ... well, even if you don't believe it, there are people who know that it's better than being in an office.

kate (kate), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:07 (twenty-two years ago)

you rule, kate. Give my best to the (bearded or shaven) HSA.

hstencil, Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Kate, anything is better than data entry!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Especially when you are a database developer reduced to this. I have GOT to get out of here or I am going to explode.

kate (kate), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Words can not express how disappointed and disillusioned with my job I am right now.

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:37 (twenty-two years ago)

How about this word: AARRRRRGGGGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHAAARRRRGGGGHGHGHGH!!!

kate (kate), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:39 (twenty-two years ago)

(given the rapid growth of this thread, i haven't exactly studied every single post, so it may've been mentioned already, but -)

Kate - how voluminous is Handsome Jedi Knight's beard anyway? is it of truly Rasputin-ian proportions? or more of a (erm, sory, just off the top of my head >>) Georgemichael-ish stubblesque thing?

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:39 (twenty-two years ago)

haha totally the latter ::ducks v.swiftly::

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:41 (twenty-two years ago)

::not swiftly enough!!::

ow ow ow kate you meanie

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:42 (twenty-two years ago)

It is quite a neat and well-trimmed beard. (Otherwise I would not be able to tolerate it.) When it starts to reach Shaker proportions (and I've seen photos of his dad - whom he resembles eirily with such a beard) then he trims it. It is a disciplined beard, though natural, i.e. not facial caligraphy or Hoxton Hillbilly "I'm too busy thinking about the future of electronic music to shave" stubble. It is a tolerable beard and he looks good in it. Since he's mentioned shaving it for heat reasons, I've become more and more curious as to what he looks like underneath.

kate (kate), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:43 (twenty-two years ago)

(X-post - don't worry, Mark, I would not hit a man with pinkeye. After all, it is contageous and I might catch it!)

kate (kate), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:43 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, have him shave it...it's not like you won't like him anymore, and at least you 'll know.

although you could be setting yourself up for just loving his smooth cheeks, and he wants to grow it back.

shave it anyway!

colette (a2lette), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:43 (twenty-two years ago)

a rasputin beard would be classic and second only to the amish moustacheless beard

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Rah rah, HSA, Experimental Music's greatest... erm, lay...

(Doesn't quite have the same ring, does it?)

kate (kate), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:48 (twenty-two years ago)

leading me to the question which are better normal beards or religious beard - i say religious beards all the way

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:51 (twenty-two years ago)

(Is Electronic Music a religion, then? Because they all have beards to stroke while listening to their music.)

kate (kate), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:53 (twenty-two years ago)

some might say so but i'm erring on the side of no - i'm feeling big rasputin jobs, amish beards sans moustache, huge hasidic jewish ones, voluminous sikh beards and luxuriant islamic facial hair equally...

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:56 (twenty-two years ago)

How about the Hasidic ear-ringlettes? Those are pretty cool, I think.

How about Secular Humanist beards? Do they count as religious?

kate (kate), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 08:58 (twenty-two years ago)

amish beards all the way!
http://www.galenfrysinger.com/americas/amish20.jpg

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 09:01 (twenty-two years ago)

wahey! you've made my morning w/ that!

secular humanist beards = wooly liberal Guardian type beards = dud, i want facial hair with conviction

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 09:02 (twenty-two years ago)

My anti-beard beliefs being known...embrace the smooth skin.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 15:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't believe I missed this thread! Actually, I can sadly... I've been doing too much work at work lately...

Anyway, he should totally shave. I mean, something like that will happen sooner or later, right? Might as well brace yourself for the change and see how it goes. I don't like it when boyfriends get short short haircuts. Blech! But fortunately, it grows back pretty quickly.

I like NA stubbly, but I don't think he'd look right with a beard...

Sarah McLusky (coco), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 19:48 (twenty-two years ago)

this thread would be funnier if it was titled:

"So. Should HSA loose his beard?"

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 19:53 (twenty-two years ago)

no disrepect of course.

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 19:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Utterly unserious answer: Ask him to shave off half and see how he likes that look.

(And if he does, and you post pictures of him so groomed, each of you win 500,000 Silver Julia Points.)

j.lu (j.lu), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 19:55 (twenty-two years ago)

[Hullo, madame Kate! Frigging cyber-bugs stopped my seeing this, yesterday.]

If you love this guy, and the beard is only part of a stage, why not put up with it for a bit? I perfer the clean-shaven myself, but many women don't mind beards.

Surely, he has other good qualities...else you wouldn't be with him.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 19:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I've only met HSA the once, but I think he would probably look better without the beard. Then again, I pretty much always think that.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 21:34 (twenty-two years ago)

He should dye the beard a wacky color!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 22:15 (twenty-two years ago)

He should go for a sikh beard; one he has to roll up and tuck into his hat.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 07:14 (twenty-two years ago)

BEARDS MUST STAY.
BEARDS NEED TO BE RELIVEDOF THEIR STIGMA BY THE CLEAN SHAVEN ELITE.

anthony easton (anthony), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 07:33 (twenty-two years ago)

anthony, will you grow a sikh beard and whiskers for me. (I'm not allowed to grow a beard)

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 07:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I want a long beard I can henna an wrap gunpowder fuses in when I attack ships of the line with my cutlass.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 07:47 (twenty-two years ago)

kate - has the weather changed over there? turned cooler, or sumptin? or has the Handsome Jedi Night been sitting in the sun for three days in the row now, waiting for you to return with the verdict of the ilxor committee??

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 09:13 (twenty-two years ago)

growing a sikh beard when catholic may be a mortal sin, i think... however i've racked up a few of them so am tempted to try it, teamed w/ hasidic ringlets... poss a Trappist monk's tonsure, too... i'd be a broad follicle church

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 09:29 (twenty-two years ago)

i have decided not to cut my hair for the summer. all of my hair.

anthony easton (anthony), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 10:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I am thinking of suggesting to HSA that he try out his new beardless look while we are on holiday. We shall be doing lots of hiking, so his beard would be extremely hot. Also, we shall be out in the middle of nowhere, where the only people who will see him are me and his mum (both of whom are going to love him anyway, regardless of beardiness/lack thereof) so he doesn't have to worry about anyone laughing at him.

If he REALLY doesn't like it, chances are it will have grown back by the end of the holiday anyway. Everyone wins!

kate (kate), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 10:02 (twenty-two years ago)

you've cracked it there... problem solved

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 10:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I should do something to my appearance as well. Like dye my hair a different colour with a temporary rinse.

kate (kate), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 10:06 (twenty-two years ago)

or grow a beard...

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 10:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I've been trying to grow sideburns for years, and it still isn't happening. :-(

kate (kate), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 10:16 (twenty-two years ago)

you really are far better off without!

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 10:19 (twenty-two years ago)

You could always experiment with hair dye down there!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 10:35 (twenty-two years ago)

What Color?
Maybe you could shave it in to words. Like 'Drone Rock' or 'HSA'

toni_y, Wednesday, 23 July 2003 11:40 (twenty-two years ago)

how 'bout circle of hair?

shave head and trim beard so you have a little circle (kinda like a tonsure) framing the face?

H (Heruy), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 11:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe a tonsure. So he can pretend to be a monk. A secular humanist monk.

kate (kate), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 11:57 (twenty-two years ago)

secular humanism = meh
there's not the spiritual fundamentalism in this belief system required for silly hair

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 12:07 (twenty-two years ago)

roughly translating as the more mental the religion (especially christian), the better the hair/beard potential...

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 12:09 (twenty-two years ago)

you have not solved it, because it involves shaving the beard, which shall not be done.

anthony easton (anthony), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 21:19 (twenty-two years ago)
