Wow, we bought sum at the w/e & I was soooo gonna start exactly the same thread today! I thought this was gonna be a thread started by my boy! def classic!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 12:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Dud, at least as far as cakes go. A tiny bit of nothing-special sponge covered in horribly sweet icing and with that weird sweet white stuff in-between. Not nice.

caitlin (caitlin), Monday, 21 July 2003 12:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I have two on my desk

i will now eat one without a "lovely cuppa tea"

james (james), Monday, 21 July 2003 12:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I have eaten all of mine! dud!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

ahem. FREEDOM Fancies, i think you'll find.

rener (rener), Monday, 21 July 2003 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

it was lemon, it was nice, a little sweet and claggy

the results are so far inconclusive, neither classic nor dud...the investigation continues

bare with me as my tea will be here in a minute

james (james), Monday, 21 July 2003 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

my tea is here - i do feel a little sick tho already

james (james), Monday, 21 July 2003 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Fondant Fancies now, innit? Classic. But how do you eat 'em? Chomp the bottom off and save the cream or just stuff the whole thing in at once?!

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 21 July 2003 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

weird sweet white stuff in-between
bbbut that's the best bit!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 12:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Chomp the bottom & save the creamy bit til last, oooh heaven!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 12:50 (twenty-two years ago)

james, are you referring to the "lovely cuppa tea" stand at glastonbury by any chance? RoXoR.

Taking Sides: Mr Kipling French Fancies vs. M&S French Fancies (which are probably not actually called French Fancies)?

(sorry for hijacking thread, DV. no French Fancies for me this evening, then)

rener (rener), Monday, 21 July 2003 12:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Chomp the bottom off and save the cream or just stuff the whole thing in at once?!

surely this belongs on the sexual innuendo thread?

rener (rener), Monday, 21 July 2003 12:54 (twenty-two years ago)

This has made me want French Fancies rther badly.

Anna (Anna), Monday, 21 July 2003 12:55 (twenty-two years ago)

stevem (blueski), Monday, 21 July 2003 12:56 (twenty-two years ago)

exceedingly good coronary catalysts

i also lurve Flake cakes

stevem (blueski), Monday, 21 July 2003 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)

nope justy a plain and simple good old lovely cuppa tea

i have now eaten my seconf fancy - it was chocolate here are my conclusions

1) always eat with tea, although this was my second fancy i dont feel half as sick
2) fancies are the ONLY thing that gets old people out of seats as the sugar acts in the same way an adrenalin shot does
3) french fancies should be fed to tight lipped crims to make them crack under pressure
4) the sickness feeling for a second fancy is delayed somewhat making point 1 redundant - i now feel pretty ropey but slightly hyper (see point 2)

in conclusion french fancies are def dud (although i would like to see them combined with multiple espresso's)

james (james), Monday, 21 July 2003 12:58 (twenty-two years ago)

They are rough. Cupcakes rule however.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Monday, 21 July 2003 13:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 13:03 (twenty-two years ago)

thats the Gaz Top definition of science, heh

stevem (blueski), Monday, 21 July 2003 13:03 (twenty-two years ago)

french fancy top 3:

1) lemon
2) choc
3) pink (???)

so, the eternal paradox:

WHY THE FUCK ARE THERE ALWAYS 3 choc and 3 PINK ones and only 2 LEMON? like, WTFF?

ambrose (ambrose), Monday, 21 July 2003 13:17 (twenty-two years ago)

GAZ TOP IS A SCIENTIST I SAW HIM ON THAT BBC SCIENCE THING TOMORROWS WORLD SO HE IS (although it was on the road so maybe john snow just couldnt travel to well)

james (james), Monday, 21 July 2003 13:19 (twenty-two years ago)

i dont like the lemon ones but the pink is strawberry, logic dictates

stevem (blueski), Monday, 21 July 2003 13:22 (twenty-two years ago)

No, lemon, pink, choc. That's the way it is!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 21 July 2003 13:26 (twenty-two years ago)

pink is a fruit - discuss

stevem (blueski), Monday, 21 July 2003 13:28 (twenty-two years ago)

cue "well she is a bit camp but i wouldnt go that far" quips

stevem (blueski), Monday, 21 July 2003 13:29 (twenty-two years ago)

pink grapefruit

james (james), Monday, 21 July 2003 13:30 (twenty-two years ago)

lemon roxor. chocolate is too rich and pink taste like gas.

j0e (j0e), Monday, 21 July 2003 13:31 (twenty-two years ago)

If it's sweet yet not made by Haribo, something's wrong and it should be avoided at all costs.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 18:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm eating one right now. YAM YAM YAM.

DV (dirtyvicar), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 20:25 (twenty-two years ago)

You're eating a yam? They're not french and they're certainly not fancy.
