I note there is a free (yes FREE) screen of the 1933 King Kong (sorry Jeff Bridges fans) in Leicester Square this sunday morning.

Not only that but they will be unveiling a statue of King Kong made of popcorn. The biggest of its kind in the world. Which makes you ask about those other popcon statues.

Anyone?

if you pay my cabfare, I'm so there.

it's one of the best films ever made. the characterisation of Kong himself is exquisite.

let me know if the bit with the scary giant spider is included in it. it was famously deemed so horrific that it was edited out, but you still see someone look disgusted as they watch their pals being eaten (offcamera) by it.

When on Sunday morning, so I know when to start the other thing that's happening on Sunday. (Not involving enormous statues of popcorn sadly. Or Jeff Bridges.)

I've got to say the idea of a King Kong made of popcorn is more frightening than any giant spider.

Its 10:30am. SO the other thing can follow nicely.

they had to cut the King Kong made of popcorn out as well. originally the popcorn King Kong comes and fiddles with Fay Wray first when she is chained up by the natives.

This is tempting, but it does mean getting up early. We'll see how I feel on Saturday.

I've got to say I looked quite jealous at the free Junior Senior and Sparks gig (together agane for the very first time) in Central Park. But I'm not flying to New York for it.

Its the statue - isn't it Anthony.

I'd love to go see King Kong, it's such a great film! Alas I do not live in London!
