You should construct a potato gun and then shoot him with it.

Even the sweet crooning of a beginner sax is delightful for the ear. GROW UP, MARK S.

Mandee, Tuesday, 22 July 2003 15:42 (twenty-two years ago)

i will skip the potato gun if you know how to contact the two sinister fellows on the packaging

"Take 5" by Northside???

donut bitch (donut), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 16:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I feel you, Mark. Now I've got the damn song in my head (the only worth that tune has is as a vamp for drum solos).

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

when i was living in nyc the kids below us would blast the same eminem song and one dancehall song EVERY DAY on repeat at top volume until the super or one of us began banging on the pipes. on the weekends their ex-crack dealer dad would do the same with the beach boys and the eagles.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 16:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Never ever ever ever ever ever be roommates with a music major who still feels the need to practice scales. A lot. Ever.

chester (synkro), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 18:23 (twenty-two years ago)

A few choruses of "Don't Take Five" by the KLF might get the message across.

retort pouch (retort pouch), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 18:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Who doesn't need to practice scales?

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 18:43 (twenty-two years ago)

fish

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 18:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Damnit now I have "Take 5" stuck in my head. Will now try to displace with "Blue Rondo a la Turk".

Oh fine, just go google image search for pictures of singing fish for yourselves, goddamnit.

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 19:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Who doesn't need to practice scales? Nonmusicans!

IT'S AN ELECTRIC GUITAR PLUG IN YOUR HEADPHONES YOU CLOSETED FILTHY MOUTHBREATHING CREEP!! AND STOP LEAVING BLOODY CONDOMS FLOATING IN THE TOILET!!

This was seven years ago! And I'm still bitter!

Eww. Yeah, guitarists have no excuse. Those fuckers.

IT'S AN ELECTRIC GUITAR PLUG IN YOUR HEADPHONES YOU CLOSETED FILTHY MOUTHBREATHING CREEP!! AND STOP LEAVING BLOODY CONDOMS FLOATING IN THE TOILET!!

Tis your wise PSA for today, kids.....

You could try ramming earplugs into their ears. It'd hurt, but they might get the point....

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 19:21 (twenty-two years ago)

When Meltzer took up the saxomophone his next-door neighbour used to shout "you're not getting any better!"

I once lived next door to a sax player who frankly never got as far as 'Take Five'. We used to call him different jazz first names, but it was 'Archie' that really stuck. Perhaps you cld call yr 'Take Five' lady 'Candy', Mark.

Andrew L (Andrew L), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 19:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Reminds me of the time I was stuck in downtown Washington for nearly an hour waiting for a bus. A panhandler half a block away had a trumpet. He played the same three Christmas carols, again and again, and couldn't play any of them correctly. I should have made a citizen's arrest for noise pollution.

j.lu (j.lu), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 19:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Candy Dulfer is as hot as she is lame.

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 19:50 (twenty-two years ago)

You should definitely blast something back from your window - your favorite song on repeat perhaps.

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 19:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Which may not work if the offender loves the same song...

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Tuesday, 22 July 2003 20:06 (twenty-two years ago)

(the only worth that tune has is as a vamp for drum solos).

This statement is an outrageous ("OUTRAGEOUS!") display of flagrant blasphemy. "Take Five" is so fucking classic that it makes my buttcheeks quiver.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 00:16 (twenty-two years ago)

How sad is it that the "Take Five" lyrics are not posted online?! Poor Northside...

Larcole (Nicole), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 00:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Take 5 has lyrics!? We're talking about the really awesome Dave Brubeck song, right?

Dan I., Wednesday, 23 July 2003 02:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Yo but i can see how it might get old to someone even a bit older than me who had heard it before like a year ago.

Dan Oi., Wednesday, 23 July 2003 02:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Heh heh the incessant sullying!

Not Fair Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 04:19 (twenty-two years ago)

As I've long suspected, Dan is the only sane ilxor.

Sam (chirombo), Wednesday, 23 July 2003 09:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay, Dan, perhaps I was being overly harsh. However, this is another tune that was ruined for me by playing them in groups WAY TOO MUCH in high school and whatnot. Like Chameleon, So What, Watermelon Man, etc...there's nothing wrong with the tunes per se, and of course good musicians can to a lot with them, but they just seem played.
