I am grateful. I just want more.

How are you meant to answer this question? I don't see the point of wanting to swap lives with anyone, everyone has their own share of shitty things.

i am incredibly grateful for what i have and incredibly comfortable with my lot, it aint alot o lot but its something

james (james), Thursday, 24 July 2003 14:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Everyone has problems I guess, but I am happy with my lot. Sure, I'd like more cash & stuff like that, but I have the best s/o in the world & I am about to buy a house & start a family. Up until this point my life is pretty peachy, I am very grateful! long may it continue.

I am grateful for a great many life-aspects, confused out of my whits by others, and frustrated to tears by the utterly futile. Usually my default setting leans more into the "grateful for stuff", but occasionally (a little more oft lately for some reason) my inability to cope with a variety of events beyond my control force that part of me onto the back-burner, allowing the "fuck, I'm so not happy with anything" part of me full access to control of my psyche. But even then I always remember "I've at least got that going for me".

Interesting that I first saw this question in a different light regarding interacting with art on a broad scale...but do we have it, really? Hm.

I'm quite grateful for what I have in terms of the day to day, trust me. Food, health and shelter for a start, a loving family and a wide circle of friends as well. Quite arguably anything beyond that has been a wonderful, fortunate bonus.

All this affluence and comfort is really a curse... I'd throw it all away but I'm too lazy. It made me lazy.

There is nothing whatsoever shitty in my life that I can't change myself. Therefore I am grateful.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 24 July 2003 14:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, I am grateful. There's very little that I want by way of material goods.

Pabst Blue Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 24 July 2003 14:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm a grateful grapefruit.

Every once in a while I get all overexcited about all this shit I want to buy. And then I get really jealous of people with money and stamp my feet and say, "Life's not fair!" Then I snuggle up to my boyfriend on the couch or talk to my sister on the phone or pet my cat or play my guitar and I'm happy again.

"why can't you ever, exist on whatever and make sure it finally gets done" - the philistines jr

I'm quite happy with what I've got, I'd rather have my low-paid stress-free job than a better paid one. And, I also appreciate that it's quite a luxury to be able to afford to stay relatively low-paid.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 24 July 2003 14:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I am content. but it is OK to want more no? makes life interesting.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 24 July 2003 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't have anything, even my residence is under constant threat of being taken away. I don't own a TV, or a couch or any furniture. I have a 1981 car that needs $400 worth of repairs every month, and no I can't buy a new one.

I have some clothes, a cell phone, a computer and DSL for which I am grateful. There are some books left that I didn't have to sell. That is the sum total of what I have and I am grateful for it.

Well, you asked.

Orbit (Orbit), Thursday, 24 July 2003 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

N nails it. i am grateful, but i want more.

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 24 July 2003 15:56 (twenty-two years ago)

despite shit-outta-my-control-that-pisses-me-off, there's always *something* in everyday life to make me smile. i'm grateful for that.

but do i want more from my life? fuck yeah.

so, a v similar answer to others'...

JuliaA (j_bdules), Thursday, 24 July 2003 16:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Sometimes I feel like, why be grateful for what you have, when you really never have anything? Then I realize the one thing I definitely DO have: the moment, The Now. As long as I still have a Now, I'm a very grateful being.
