The morning of the barbecue she went outside to find that not only had raccoons gotten at the corn, but they took one bite out of each ear, and then threw them aside. She spent the whole day hitting every store and farmer's market in the area, trying to round up enough corn to feed her guests. In spite of this, she has cultivated a number of raccoons, putting out leftovers and other food for them.
