at first I thought it was squirrels but I now know the true culprits!

I have a family of badgers living in my garden, and they trundle out at night and eat my strawberries. Bastards.

They're baiting you!

Yeah, badgers are big on irony round these parts.

I feel as though I am the only one without an herb garden under attack.

One year an aunt of mine was growing a plot of sweet corn. The ears were filling in gloriously, so she planned to have a big barbecue and invited all her friends.

The morning of the barbecue she went outside to find that not only had raccoons gotten at the corn, but they took one bite out of each ear, and then threw them aside. She spent the whole day hitting every store and farmer's market in the area, trying to round up enough corn to feed her guests. In spite of this, she has cultivated a number of raccoons, putting out leftovers and other food for them.
