donut bitch (donut), Saturday, 26 July 2003 19:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I hate moshpits! More pogo action! Save the horizontal dancing and bodyslamming for the bedroom!

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 26 July 2003 19:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Int'l noise conspiracy at the ottobar!!! FUCKING WHOOOOOOOOO ARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHH except for that one son of a bitch who kept putting his elbows up and nearly killing people.

FUCKING HAHAHAHAHA are you ok? FUCK YEAH AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHH SATAN ARRGH

and then at the Supersuckers show at Fletchers! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I just grabbed a titty! I'm so drunk! WHOOOOOOOO oof YEAH SATAN AND SHIT

I've never been in a moshpit until I moved to this area. I was seriously missing out. So far I must say that Baltimore has great moshpit crowds; DC moshers generally suck and annoy me, though. The people moshing should remember that not everyone at the show wants to get collided with, and KEEP YOUR ELBOWS DOWN ASSHOLE

Millar (Millar), Saturday, 26 July 2003 19:41 (twenty-two years ago)

State College moshpits are all about the elbows so my hate rages on.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 26 July 2003 20:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Man, does anyone have that Bikini Kill article about mosh pit etiquette?

Texas Sam (thatgirl), Saturday, 26 July 2003 20:29 (twenty-two years ago)

EEEEYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! Moshpits duing Black Metal gigs = Teh Shizzle. Especially when people stand around in the Balth pose or with their arms crossed, mum's makeup on their face, watching impassively. I'd love to mosh at an Impaled Nazarene gig.

Agent Uranium [GPC], Saturday, 26 July 2003 21:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Stupidest mosh-pit ever: the few guys who were trying to mosh to "Suicide" at the Spectrum gig at Jabberjaw in 1996. Gawd I hated that club.

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Saturday, 26 July 2003 23:31 (twenty-two years ago)

OleM (OleM), Sunday, 27 July 2003 00:23 (twenty-two years ago)

yawn..DUD DUD DUD DUD for many years now.

kephm, Sunday, 27 July 2003 11:45 (twenty-two years ago)

A club-kid friend of mine and I went to the local rawk club. He likes trance. I was at the bar when I heard the opening few bars of "Smells like Teen Spirit" I turned round to see him standing in the middle of the dancefloor, oblivious as to what was about to occur, and failed to reach him in time.

Matt (Matt), Sunday, 27 July 2003 20:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Will you see him at the crossroads?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 28 July 2003 08:44 (twenty-two years ago)

What's left of him.

Matt (Matt), Monday, 28 July 2003 09:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm really the worst person to put in a mosh pit because it's all well and good but then suddenly I get offended, like as if I was on the subway and someone pushed me, right. So then I start like really whaling on people and it just gets ugly.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 28 July 2003 13:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Remember that craziness, when people moshed to anything, like the Pixies or whatever? I used to go to a place in Knoxville called "The China King" that was supposed to be a Chinese restaurant but actually held punk and hardcore and metal shows at all nights of the week. They actually had a sign that said "no slamdancing" and people respected it. Can you imagine walking in there with your family, looking for some won-ton soup and seeing that sign??

Moshing: whither?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 28 July 2003 13:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I bet they didn't mosh to Belle & Sebastian.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 28 July 2003 13:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Chris Radford (Chris Radford), Monday, 28 July 2003 13:37 (twenty-two years ago)

This has rapidly become the best thread ever, I kiss you Alex. WHY is she wearing such an awesome suit? The rest of them aren't. You know what my favorite thing about that last pic is? Off to the far left, right behind that dude grabbing the other guy's leg to like piledrive him, there's the smuggest man in the entire world sitting back and watching the melee and dear god, I love him.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 28 July 2003 14:48 (twenty-two years ago)

My guess is that someone brought in a boom box, blasting the latest offerings from....
