should I make just a simple vinegarette or something more ambitious?

I'd use the dressing for German potato salad -- vinegar, bacon, and so on. This month's Cook's Illustrated had a decent article on it, suggesting white vinegar instead of cider vinegar.

I believe the new International Treaty of the Vegetables stipulate that as long as the borders of Potatoes remain sealed with olive oil, Rosemary may inhabit the borders within a confined space. The Treaty Ammendment of 2003 clearly states that Fresh Basil may only occupy the area *after* the heat is off.

Indeed. Simple vinaigrette will be fine. Maybe with some yellow bell peppers, for a contrast of color.
