http://www.papadoo.com/minibio.htm In the mid '80s the band teamed up with actor, John Stamos (General Hospital, Full House), for a series of concerts and fair dates. Through PAPA, John got to be friends with and eventually became the celebrity drummer for the Beach Boys.

Former Full House actor John Stamos plays playboy on upcoming TV showLOS ANGELES (AP) — In an upcoming ABC comedy, John Stamos plays a bachelor who goes through women sort of like how Samantha went through men in Sex and the City. It’s not a role he’s auditioning for in real life.“I’m very uncomfortable dating,” the former Full House actor said. “I have no moves whatsoever any more. I don’t like it.”Stamos filed for divorce last year from actress Rebecca Romijn-Stamos. They began dating in 1994 and married in 1998, and have no children.“I never thought I’d be single again at this point in my life,” he said. His character in the comedy Jake in Progress is a New York playboy in the process of discovering it’s an empty kind of life. Actress Julie Bowen will be one of his romantic interests; Stamos said she’ll play a female version of Mr. Big on Sex and the City.Stamos has filmed 13 episodes of the romantic comedy. Although ABC promoted the show to television critics on Sunday, it still hasn’t found a place for it on the prime-time schedule.

The actor was asked by Jane magazine, “What’s the worst you ever screwed someone over?” He answered: “[In the mid- ’80s] I was in a band. I was playing somewhere in Finland, and there was a girl hanging around who was really drunk and interested in me. I wasn’t into her, but my friend was.
So the girl came back to my hotel, and I turned the lights down, and we started making out. I said, ‘Hold on a second, I’ve gotta go brush my teeth.’ It was dark, I left the room, and I sent in my friend who looked like me. And she thought she was having sex with me, but she was really having sex with my friend.”

I do wonder sometimes what Mr. Stamos thinks of Animal Collective when they're at their most Wilsonian. I bet he'd say "My Girls" or "Bros" were nice tries but why mess with that perfect Beach Boys sound?

Who says you can't bring your favorite music to work? Or in this case to your situational comedy character's private life?

this is more for ILTMI, but the first time i...uh...achieved orgasm, i was watching Uncle Jesse's bulge through his jeans.

y'know, at first glance I was confused about what Animal Collective had ever done that could be compared to Woodrow Wilson
too much time on the politics threads...

i LOVE this movie, saw it on video in prob '87 as part of my 'must own all Vanity 6/Vanity albums and see all Vanity movies' thing which of course leads to "Shaw Nuff, the Shogun of Harlem"
but, Vanity, John Stamos and Gene Simmons as a hermaphroditic villain and George Lazenby as Stamos' dad, c'mon, whats not to love? it's the alternate ending to On Her Majesty's Secret Service if Diana Rigg had lived and John Stamos was the kid (ok, that was horrible)
but yes this film gave me much amusement in HS, had forgotten abt it till now so thanks for reminding me
