"The Apartheid Wall": necessary security measure or seriously creepy development?

When I first read about this wall a month or two ago, well before the major news media or the President had made any mention of it, it gave me the willies somethin' awful. It still does. It's not the Berlin wall, to be sure... that was designed to keep its own people in, not to keep terrorists out. So on the surface, it seems more justified. But it's not the smoothest PR move on the Israeli's part, either. For one thing, it does not run along any political border, and is a fairly obvious attempt at a land grab, encompassing a little more of Palestine than Palestine is comfortable with. It also splits some established Palestinian villages in two. And for Palestenians who live in Palestine proper and work in Israel, well, the opportunity for abuse of this barrier arises. And if Israel has a power that it can abuse, rest assured that it will promptly do so. Hence the name "Apartheid Wall."

Does this make anyone else's blood boil?
