i want to leave mine too but it's not a good idea as i'll be homeless and v poor if i do (don't even think about trying to encourage me pink!). however, if you can do it smee, just go ahead and walk out: tell them you're sick, yopu're going home and won't be coming back and furthermore, they can go eat a dick if the don't like it. then sashay nochalantly out the door, slamming it behind you and wait for the rest of the folx there to bust into spontaneous applause ...

It's not even 4 o'clock yet and I'm on my own! But tonight it's party time!!!! The boss tried to phone me and she left a message saying to phone back I did but she was in a meeting, so I said I was of to the doctors and wouldn't be available for the rest of the day. I'll just get the bloke to phone in sick for me the 'morra. Job done

I was such a wimp, I wish I could say I told them all to stuff their job but I just left without saying anything - got the junior to say I was ill, pathetic really. Maybe I'll phone and tell them later...

Smee, congrats for being so brave. Tis a scary thing to do, but leaving is worth it, if it will save your sanity. (Trust me, cause I've done it.)

Rest for a bit, then jump back on the horse and start looking for that job you really want.

it is a great feeling though... i remember having a job i really hated and walking out - felt fantastic for a good week knowing i wouldn't have to be there... just have a couple of weeks off and enjoy being a lady of leisure for a while...

Cheers Nichole, I ain't that brave tho, got another job lined up already - I start Monday. I just got hacked off with them all acting like I'd betrayed them by leaving the stinking hell hole.

My plans for today? Make nice dinner, something long and needing lots of preparation, then when my boy comes home get absolutley pissed and fall over..not much of a plan but it works for me....

go see yr doctor tell him it's stress he'll verify it then they have to pay you - i've never done this but i'm reliably informed it works...

What you need to do is when you (or your other half) phone them tomorrow, tell them that you're sick because you're stressed out, because of the way they've behaved towards you since you handed in your notice. You couldn't take any more, that your life has been hell for these past few weeks, and you weren't sleeping properly, etc. etc.

It should have them running a mile, with no problems about paying you all you're due

Yeah I was thinking of something along those lines - I reckon the Doc would see right through it though so I'm not going - it's less than the 5 days it states in my contract (after 5 days they want a Doc's cert) so I think it'll be ok, cross yer fingers and stuff...

cross post.. You only need a doctors certificate if it's over the set amount of time, so you'll be fine. It wouldn't be worth their while to do anything about it. It does mean that you'll miss out on leaving drinks though, I bet you're gutted!

Just wanted to say, my new job is amazing! I lurve it already after just a week, the people are soooo nice and the place is lovely etc etc more gushy stuff (I keep waiting for them to show their evil side, I realise there is time yet but I am feeling positive :0)
Small problem tho NO INTERWEB - Aaaarrrghh! I am on a campaign to get it on my machine and I have the support of my bosses, unfortunately not the IT people :0( I'm sneaking this post from a co-workers machine. See ya later (I hope!)
