and wanting to avoid any unpleasantness whilst at university.

i'm pretty damn sure this happened with an ex of mine. we prolonged our relationship a good year or so simply out of convenience (we were interested in the same subjects). it's like we had this tacit arrangment not to rock the boat.

yer thoughts and experiences please.

I think a guy I worked with sort of did this to me now I think about it in that context, seeing as he stopped talking to me about 3 days after he quit the job he had here :-/ And he wasn't even a proper boyfriend!

Damn, it is cold innit Chris. I feel like I'm in Canberra.

Dude, I once dated two guys who were in the same English class as me, when I stopped seeing them one of them dropped out of the class but I'm pretty sure it was unrelated.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Did it a few times, and its generally a bad idea, or at least in a class of 20 or so it was. Specially since one of them was an engineer a few screws loose of a bridge collapsing.

I left university for a year having been dumped by someone - I just couldn't face seeing him around. Which was a bit extreme, but I had never had my heart broken before and just couldn't see any possibility that I could do my final year.

I had been asked out by my now-husband several times on my other college course, but was going out with someone else. He and I both knew it was going nowhere, he was a total knobend about the fact that me and the future mr ailsa were friends (touch of the green-eyed monster), but we were working on projects together and it would have been more hassle that it was worth to end it. We drifted around till the day of our last exam, then we broke up and I hooked up with mr ailsa just after our graduation dinner about a week later.
