Fully 90% of them were five words long and ended with ;-), I'm sure.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 14:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Heavens! I kill you now! ;)

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 14:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Am I the only one who gets desperately depressed when I see my position on the statscock and then think of my lingering, oft-avoided novel?

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 14:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Not gleefully filthy enough.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 14:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Gentlemen, return to your copies of Photoshop and prepare for mentalism.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)

That's a picture of God congratulating Job for withstanding all his trials and tribulations.

NA (Nick A.), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 14:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I never realized what an insane genius you were til just now, Nick.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 14:36 (twenty-two years ago)

why is ilx so fixated on job today?

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 14:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Congratulations Ned.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 14:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Job is my favorite book of the Bible, it's totally fucked up. I don't understand how anyone could read that and still want to be a christian.

NA (Nick A.), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 14:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Well every now and again even god has too much sauce and makes stupid boasts with his pals.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 15:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh my God. How in the world did you manage that total? I know for damn sure this forum hasn't been going for that long -- not like you're totalling up around eight or nine years' worth of posts.

*ahem* What I meant to say was, CONGRATULATIONS! Yeah. That's the ticket.

Apparently, though, after posting here for nearly four months, I have amassed 520 posts. This means that, if I continue at the current rate, in three years' time I will have posted approximately 4,680 posts. Still is nowhere even coming CLOSE to 20,000.

*ahem* What I meant to say was, wow, this is a major accomplishment!

Just Deanna (Dee the Lurker), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 15:13 (twenty-two years ago)

All it means is slow work days and reasonably fast typing skills. But thank ya!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 15:26 (twenty-two years ago)

This IS the novel.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 15:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Poor plot structure.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 15:29 (twenty-two years ago)

You are truly welcome, hon.

*quick hugs just because*

Just Deanna (Dee the Lurker), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 15:31 (twenty-two years ago)

no ned, you have an X factor!

Larcole (Nicole), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 15:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I hope i get out of here before I get to 20,000 posts.

I think I've nearly got 10,000.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 15:40 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah!

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 15:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Also congratulations, and it's always nice to see yr posts, Ned.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 15:42 (twenty-two years ago)

actually 10,000 on ILX. I've only got 4000 on ILE.

He's actually very learned and talks a bit like you.

Larcole (Nicole), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 15:45 (twenty-two years ago)

SNARLLLLGH! ;)

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 15:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm known to do that when I snore, true.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 15:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Psh, that's nothing. The top poster on the Radiohead message board (the board has been around for 4 years, but there has only been a statscock since April 2002, so posts have only been counted since that point) has 65,810 posts.

So Ned, you have QUITE a ways to go.

Melissa W (Melissa W), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 15:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Is that top poster Julio?

bnw (bnw), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

No, Thom.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 15:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a paltry 16,216 posts there.

Melissa W (Melissa W), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 16:02 (twenty-two years ago)

65, 810 posts about Radiohead in 15 months is surely grounds for invoking the mental health act? I'm not actually joking here.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 16:02 (twenty-two years ago)

N is correct abt this. doesn't this guy have a job (if he does, it must the greatest job in the world evah)

''Is that top poster Julio?''

don't know what you're asking: I have abt 10,000 posts on ilm and ile combined.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 16:07 (twenty-two years ago)

N. the Radiohead board is actually very much like ILE. No one really talks about Radiohead, ever.

Melissa W (Melissa W), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

julio: it was a joke about your luv of radiohead

bnw (bnw), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Assuming only 6 hours sleep a day, that is an average of 8 posts per waking hour.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Melissa, where is this parallel paradise ILE where Radiohead is left unspoken?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 16:22 (twenty-two years ago)

haha sorry i haven't had much sleep bnw.

anyway, one more post to the pile. yuk.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

*mind boggles*

congrats!

Chris Radford (Chris Radford), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 17:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you want a link?

Melissa W (Melissa W), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 17:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned's posts on I Love Everything : more than 20,000.
Ned's posts on I Love Music : less than 15,000.

=> Ned loves everything more than music! *gasp*

Sommermute (Wintermute), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I have 2506 (or 2507 now) since like January or December (or maybe later, since I don't think I discovered ILX was more fun until I'd been on ILM for a while). Which I think is a lot.

Well done, Ned! (I think I must be closing in on 10k on the two boards together, except since I switched email addresses, despite keeping the same login, I now have two identities. I must sort this out one of these days, because I'll certainly be hitting 10k on ILE in a few months, at a guess about by the time Ned visits London.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 30 July 2003 19:29 (twenty-two years ago)

clemenza, Wednesday, 5 August 2015 22:16 (ten years ago)

Back when Ned posted the original post on this thread (on July 30, 2003, so you don't have to scroll up) I'd already been on this board since 2001. As of today ilxor.com tells me: You have posted 18,433 messages. My lack of loquacity compared to so many of my fellow ilxors surprises me. I'd have thought the number would be higher.

No doubt the vast majority of them were nothing more than throwing a pebble down a well to hear it splash. Sometimes, I've risen to the occasion. I'm probably most proud of starting this thread, but largely because it brought Beth Parker's poetic talent and that of many other ilxors out of the shadows. It was great fun while it lasted.

I would have thought Aimless would have been alongside or past me--I thought we posted at about the same rate. I probably post more in bunches on things like debate- or World Series-threads, where I'll post 15-20 times in an hour.
