The fish are his only friends, it's all very existential and lonely.

He is sort of the goth answer to Hello Kitty. I think Kitty should drop Dear Daniel like a bad habit and hook up with Chococat. He needs more friends.

Ah, Chococat. One of the "new school" Sanrio creations, and not at all annoying as Bad Badtz Maru. I hate Bad Badtz Maru, since he took away Tuxedo Sam's spot as resident penguin. :-(

Does Chococat have a mouth? I noticed Hello Kitty doesn't have one either. What's up with that?

A friend of mine actually wrote to the folks at Sanrio about the absence of Tuxedo Sam dolls in the marketplace and was told poor Sam was being "phased out." :-(

But on topic, I'm all for a Hello Kitty-Chococat pairing. :-) I wonder if they'll have a litter of mouthless kittens.

Colette once wrote a short story in the voice of the ghost of a little black cat who had starved to death because he was appropriated as the shadow of a little white cat. And that little black cat's name was...Chococat.

(Okay, the cat isn't named in the story. But I like to think of Chococat as tragic and supernatural and cruelly forced out of the limelight by Hello Kitty.)
