So I'm writing this blurb about our pal Nick and I realize, hey, he's coming to town and there are several of us here...and I've been meaning to hold a FAP here anyway since I got back (and since only DB and I managed to make it to the July 4 one)...so what think, everyone? Wanna see the show and/or have dinner/drinks fore/aft?

Allrightie... well, are we still on for 7pmish at the Elysian Brewery thursday evening? I will be getting there via bus after work, so given the unpredictable nature of Seattle traffic, i might more realistically make it by 7:30pm, myself, but we'll see.

and I emailed Nick about this as well, finally..(doh!). Hopefully he and the posse can make it, but if not, it would be nice to see the gang again. :)

OK, word from Momus for making the pre-show dinner is: maybe! It really depends on how late or early his soundcheck is supposed to be. Since the Elysian is just a block away from the venue anyway, I could just walk over to the venue first and see if Nick is there, then just say "Hey, if you get some time, swing over here and say hi" and take it from there.

Thanks so much to Donut Bitch Brian for the sleeping space and the tour of Microsoft's hidden campuses. We are now in a car lot in downtown Redmond where I've hacked into an unprotected wifi network. We just visited the most unfriendly pawn shop ever, with a big sign in the window saying 'No loaded guns', and an old sourpuss standing there in front of a rack of shotguns scowling at us. I have to say this kind of forest-campus sprawl, with cafes called bluntly folksy things like'Friendly Fibres' and 'The Brown Bag Cafe' (because they put your purchases in a brown bag, I suppose) is fascinatingly alien to me, as was the conversation at the FAP thing last night. I never felt more European!

Will probably check the Richard Foreman festival in Seattle tonight before heading to Olympia tonight to (hopefully -- Chester?) sleep with the ass fucking puppet. So Jess Harvell, watch out for jarring feng shui!
