When do you feel stupid? What daily things make you feel stupid? Are you particularly thick in any particular area?

For example, I am such a dumbo with anything mechanical, and when I say mechanical I mean even the lock on a gate or something. That is how thick I am with it, I am unable to do anything relating to this simply, I routinely turn keys the wrong way or wonder for a second which way locks the door.

I feel stupid whenever I have to open ANYTHING. Most doors seem extremely heavy to me. It takes me forever to get pill containers open when I have a headache. Sometimes I even have a hard time opening candy wrappers. I often end up resorting to scissors. *sigh*

I felt clumsily stupid for most of yesterday, attempting to pack things and take furniture apart and stick it back together and load vans sensibly and do things with parcel tape. Our friend Tim treated the whole van-loading exercise as a giant game of Tetris and made it look very easy. (Unfortunately our stuff didn't magically teleport into the new flat as soon as he completed a line though.) So yeah, all practical or mechanical things = Closed Book to me. I have no spacial awareness, sense of direction or arithmetical ability. This is NOT because I'm a girl, though.

Same thing I felt when I moved. Especially as v. organised girlfriend pretty much single-handedly co-ordinated the otherwise random and ineffectual packing efforts of me and flatmate.

i can feel stupid in a lot of social situations, since i tend to shoot my mouth off when i'm not stuffing my foot into it.

and sometimes, after i've stufft it in there, i tend to shoot myself in the foot by shooting my mouth off.

Misinterpreting things, acting on those misinterpretations, walking into doorways/walls/fire-hydrands/etc. while thinking about something else, not being able to remember anything ever, constant inability to transfer thoughts into verbally communicable patterns, etc.

Oh totally. Just last night, I was at this guy's house, I found a hat over there I had left there long ago, put it on, wore it awhile...as I was leaving, I come back in and go "hey, I don't wanna forget that hat again, where is it?" They looked at me and laffed and laffed. (it was still on my head)

Or, even worse (due to inability to blame alkymahol unlike last night), I was 12 years old, my fam had ordered pizza. I go to the door and pay for it when it gets there. The pizzas were in my hand as I freak out on my family all like "Crap, did that guy give us our pizzas? Where are they!?! Call the pizza place!" They laffed heartily.

Truthfully, the thing that makes me feel stupid is when I do a favor for someone and they return it by shitting all over me. Then I feel like never again, I learned my lesson, but they somehow come up with a new wrinkle and I fall for it yet again, get shit on again, feel stupid. Repeat.

I feel it's wrong to say, "I hope you mean that figuratively" because people shouldn't be figuratively shat upon, but I would SO PREFER THAT to being literally shat upon.

I sometimes feel stupid when I go all id and post something hideously inappropriate (like the above paragraph DELETE IT YOU MORON YOU HAVE THE POWER oh hell).

This is me at meetings. I have the meeting-stupidity curse. Most of the time I am sensible and noncommital but put me in a room with a bunch of people I don't know well in a work related setting and I just can't help myself.
