I recall doing this for my mother about a year ago. There's no direct transfer, but I think Claris Emailer Lite will read some common format between the two (you should be able to Google up an old copy of Emailer, though its been dead for years). Should save you the trouble of buying real conversion software.

Horror story: uh... I just don't like using it. You can't use *rules* for example... Ah hell I just didn't like it.

nathalie (nathalie), Tuesday, 16 September 2003 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

What do you mean, you can't use rules? I use rules in Mail.

I use Mail for my work e-mail and Eudora for personal stuff; I prefer Eudora by quite a bit. Mail has some potential but they need to work on it a bit more.

I want to try Eudora, but Eudora 6 doesn't seem to want to import mail from Mail.app, which is odd; Emailalchemy could prolly do it, but I ain't paying 25 dollars to use an application just once, so is there an easier way to export from Mail to Eudora?

Dave B (daveb), Tuesday, 16 September 2003 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

i did this. but then you'll just have to export everything to the next mail app when you realize apple mail sucks ass! which is unpossible because no other program reads however they format their mail. it's positively crashtastic. or just doesn't work for no reason. or forgets all your presets one day. and i hate that floppy side panel shit. just look at the mail discussion group on apple.com support for some horror stories.

eudora is my old standby.

one year passes...
ok i am in the middle of importing loads of ancient unsorted emails from a variety of stupid squirreled-away places and i am suddenly wondering what is the max advisable no. of old emails i should actually keep on MAIL 1.2.5 on OS X 10.2.8

when my computer went wrong last year MAIL went wrong first and i lost all my emails

so i began to worry i was keepin too many

but since i reconfigured and rebuilt and etc i actually seem to have found them all again (sometimes more than once), so maybe there is NO UPPER LIMIT?

jon w this is the sort of thing you know!!
