A special bonus article from Chris Brown, which would have gone in this month's normal update only it hadn't been finished.

seven months pass...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 13 May 2004 11:20 (twenty-two years ago)

no :o( never saw it on any menus, or in any shops. There was lots of Conch action though, and tiki bar action too. Coming soon to a publog near you (if I can get off my arse and do it)

chris (chris), Thursday, 13 May 2004 12:03 (twenty-two years ago)

boo :(

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 13 May 2004 12:08 (twenty-two years ago)

four months pass...
ladies and gentlemen, WE HAVE SQUIRREL!!

please await further instructions...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 24 September 2004 11:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Hurrah!

Ricardo (RickyT), Friday, 24 September 2004 11:50 (twenty-one years ago)

This is fantastic news!

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Saturday, 25 September 2004 16:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I wish I was in a position to offer assistance with the cooking and eating. I nearly bought head of cheese today!

Madchen (Madchen), Saturday, 25 September 2004 18:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Hurrah!

My mum went in search of squirrel in Ludlow, and after being directed to the out of town butcher warehouse type place, was presented with a bag of frozen squirrels (unfortunately already skinned) and asked how many she wanted. So we've got three, which will hopefully remain in their frozen state on the way back home tomorrow so we can have time to think carefully about how to cook them

Vicky (Vicky), Saturday, 25 September 2004 18:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Jugged squirrel.

Madchen (Madchen), Sunday, 26 September 2004 08:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Sounds like they're already dead, Madchen, but good suggestion anyway.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Sunday, 26 September 2004 08:52 (twenty-one years ago)

why is it unfortunate that they're skinned already? Isn't it a bit of a pain in the arse if you have to do it yourself?

What does "I nearly bought head of cheese" mean? Sounds disgusting.

MarkH (MarkH), Sunday, 26 September 2004 09:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey!

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 1 October 2004 08:17 (twenty-one years ago)

sunday!

Vicky (Vicky), Friday, 1 October 2004 08:39 (twenty-one years ago)

!!!

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 1 October 2004 08:39 (twenty-one years ago)

How are you cooking the squirrel? This is very important.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 1 October 2004 09:01 (twenty-one years ago)

HE IS COOKING TEH SQUIRREL!!!

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 1 October 2004 09:02 (twenty-one years ago)

casserole, with cider, bacon, small onions, and carrots

Vicky (Vicky), Friday, 1 October 2004 09:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, it will be able to stuff its own chops as it slowly simmers.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 1 October 2004 09:13 (twenty-one years ago)

This is the day! Your life will surely change!

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Sunday, 3 October 2004 09:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Unless I hear otherwise, I shall continue to imagine both of you lying on the settee watching Last of the Summer Wine and clutching your innards.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Sunday, 3 October 2004 16:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Squirrel was good, but I'm not allowed to say any more until Chris gets off his arse and blogs it. The photos are worth waiting for, but not for the squeamish.

Vicky (Vicky), Sunday, 3 October 2004 17:22 (twenty-one years ago)

OK, I'll be patient.

It should be a full proper article to go with Part 1, otherwise I will feel lopsided.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Sunday, 3 October 2004 17:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm making him write it tonight, not sure how long it'll be though

Vicky (Vicky), Sunday, 3 October 2004 17:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Is he doing the Venice write-up too?

Markelby (Mark C), Sunday, 3 October 2004 17:26 (twenty-one years ago)

He's got writer's block at the minute, 'I don't know what to write..' So I'm not sure. 'The Match' being on in half an hour isn't helping.

Vicky (Vicky), Sunday, 3 October 2004 17:30 (twenty-one years ago)

blogged!

Vicky (Vicky), Sunday, 3 October 2004 20:24 (twenty-one years ago)

I like the picture of domestic bliss above ('I'm making him write it tonight';'He's got writer's block at the minute, 'I don't know what to write..'') even more than the article itself, and that's saying something.

Thank you both. I'm going to invite the local squirrels in to read it. I think they must be in their wee squirrel hidey-holes today.

Awwww! So cute and delicious.

robster (robster), Monday, 4 October 2004 08:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I think perhaps we need a STOOL REPORT to round this adventure off.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 14:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I think perhaps we really don't.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 14:41 (twenty-one years ago)

three months pass...
Christopher and Victoria, I would like to email you but I no longer have your addresses, and I think one of them would be out of date anyway.

Unfortunately it is not about anything untoward or pervy. Or even exciting. It is about your St Etienne CD; the return thereof.

My address is [email protected] unless you want to put your postal address up here for all the stalkers.

Apparently, at the Roadkill Cafe they've got armadillo pie and squirrel souffle.

I keep forgetting to write to Chris and Vicky, but I will hopefully remember one day.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Wednesday, 30 March 2005 11:21 (twenty-one years ago)

check the post for postcards dude, texas style, not yet obviously

ceebee, Wednesday, 30 March 2005 11:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Are you there now?

The only thing I could think of was a souvenir bib, possibly with some nodding donkeys on it.

To my great amusement, my wife asked if you were going there to get married again.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Wednesday, 30 March 2005 11:52 (twenty-one years ago)

no, we fly out in the morning, vic has just left work now, and will pick me up around 6.

can you get baby stetsons?

ceebee, Wednesday, 30 March 2005 12:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Yee-har! I hope so.

Have a nice time, both.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Wednesday, 30 March 2005 13:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Ten minutes to go, Porkie.

PS: One of your lorries nearly ran me over yesterday, Windrush nutjobs!

I sent you, the Porkpies, an email with this link, but like a rubber ball, it came bouncing back to me, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy.
