Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 18 September 2003 13:28 (twenty-two years ago)

''my belief: duane is going to wales w.his mum first b4 arriving in london, and his gig is on the 24th''

yr belief is fact.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 18 September 2003 16:34 (twenty-two years ago)

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 18 September 2003 16:45 (twenty-two years ago)

That will be part of the research, hopefully

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 19 September 2003 09:27 (twenty-two years ago)

duane, drive to Ormskirk, we can have a pint and then you can go "is this it?" and I can say "yes it is" and then spread my arms in a helpless manner

Matt (Matt), Friday, 19 September 2003 23:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I really do wish duane well there and hope everyone enjoys hanging out with him, but I've got to say: friends don't let friends ANYWHERE NEAR OR IN the vehicle supposedly under the control of mr zarakov! I'm not kidding!

any NZ'rs in the Ghosts?

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Saturday, 20 September 2003 03:03 (twenty-two years ago)

oh duh I guess it's like as in the Ghost Club - D Mitchell and D Roughan and that other one whose name I can't remember

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Saturday, 20 September 2003 03:11 (twenty-two years ago)

mr zarakvov aint that bad a driver these days you know! iv'e let him drive my car and my person and lived to tell the tale . hey dz hows it going ?

hellbaby (hellbaby), Saturday, 20 September 2003 08:48 (twenty-two years ago)

oops thats mr zarakov not zarakvov im referring to.

hellbaby (hellbaby), Saturday, 20 September 2003 08:49 (twenty-two years ago)

duane are you doing that great NZ thing of going to the English Christchurch? it's v. much the sort of English town your mum will remember, even today.

robin carmody (robin carmody), Saturday, 20 September 2003 13:33 (twenty-two years ago)

i dunno, where is it? my geographical sense of this country is pretty sketchy, however i have just arrived at my aunt's place in church stretton , shropshire (nb liz : long drive! unfamiliar roads & customs & shit! NO MISHAPS. i think you only rode in my car 1x anyway right? i can remem ber that time & i don't think it was representative of my driving in general.) & she has given me a pile of maps to study. i found out that there are about 34 rivers in the uk called the avon, wtf is up w/ that!?
lisa i am good, i don't feel sick any more but i still have to go to bed at like 7 pm & get up at about 5.

duane, Saturday, 20 September 2003 14:11 (twenty-two years ago)

ok not 34, i meant to type 3 or 4

duane, Saturday, 20 September 2003 14:17 (twenty-two years ago)

afon = welsh (ie pre-english english) for river

church stretton = abt 15 miles from where my mum and dad live!!

mark s (mark s), Saturday, 20 September 2003 14:18 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah my mum told me that. about afon i mean, not yr parents, i don't think she knows em. what town is it, i mighta driv thru it today!

duane, Saturday, 20 September 2003 14:52 (twenty-two years ago)

it's too little even to be a village, it's a hamlet!!

it's called mytton (after mad jack mytton = famous 18th century horsefancier and drunk) and if yr driving through it then yr LOST!! (well probbly)

(early welshman (in welsh): "i name this river the river RIVER!!")

mark s (mark s), Saturday, 20 September 2003 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

"Have you never been upset in a gig?"

mark s (mark s), Saturday, 20 September 2003 14:59 (twenty-two years ago)

duane your driving has improved since the old hi-ace days. i no longer feel like an endangered species when i am a passenger.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Saturday, 20 September 2003 22:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I've been in DZ's driving at least five times, every time a nightmare, but some worse than others. I think the attitude of "well hey I haven't crashed or killed myself or anyone so I must be okay" indicitive in itself of a bad driving attitude (my mum's an appalling driver but doesn't realise it cause she just doesn't notice the havoc she's causing to other drivers). Don't take Lucy's opinion seriously on this: you drove home from Portstock after drinking for one thing.

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Saturday, 20 September 2003 23:41 (twenty-two years ago)

that's not my attitude at all liz! my attitude is more like, everyday in every way/better better better etc.
matt where is ormskirk, somewhere way up north right? i'd sure like to go there but i don't think we're gonna go anywhere too far n., we're mainly gonna be in the west country/wales/cornwall. see i'm just trying to do the stuff my mum wants to do & those are her main objectives, obv if it was down to me myself i would be driving all the hell over the place aimlessly looking for kicks & trouble.

duane, Sunday, 21 September 2003 04:16 (twenty-two years ago)

also di has rode in my car 100s of times probably, she knows what she is talkin about!

duane, Sunday, 21 September 2003 04:18 (twenty-two years ago)

D Mitchell and D Roughan and that other one whose name I can't remember

he's called jim
but most people call him
jim

duane, Sunday, 21 September 2003 13:32 (twenty-two years ago)

"one night when he was preparing for bed he had a very persistent
attack of hiccups, and in order to give himself a fright to cure them, he deliberately set fire to his flannel nightshirt, and in a second was
enveloped in flames" !!!!

this thread is strangely exciting - i wish it was on tv

jones (actual), Sunday, 21 September 2003 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Duane, I can't make yr gig now cos I have to do a fuckin' stocktake at work that eve, dbl bummer

Andrew L (Andrew L), Sunday, 21 September 2003 14:09 (twenty-two years ago)

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 09:47 (twenty-two years ago)

i know duncan, everyone in new zealand does.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 09:59 (twenty-two years ago)

what should I know about them?

etc, Tuesday, 23 September 2003 10:20 (twenty-two years ago)

um in case anyone got the wrong idea, the song i wrote isn't ABOUT duane, i just meant its for our band.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 10:24 (twenty-two years ago)

duncan once offered to let me play his korg.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 10:25 (twenty-two years ago)

etc, are you wanting people to post opinions/whatever regarding people we know/know of, on here? I think that's be damn rude

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 10:50 (twenty-two years ago)

The Duncan I know is a fair way off 30, so I don't know. I know no Brendans.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 10:57 (twenty-two years ago)

lucy lurex, your next song should be about having sex with oliver cromwell in the back of a Vauxhall Cavalier.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 11:04 (twenty-two years ago)

it should be but it isn't

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 11:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Think of me as your muse. (You will need to supply the customary diaphanous nightie).

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 11:35 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm afraid all of my songs are about throwing my panties at tom jones.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 11:48 (twenty-two years ago)

i dunno if i know duncan & brendon (the auckland one) wouldnt be near 30 yet i dont think...dunno man, maybe, i know lots of people. why you ask?
hey im in london, what do i do???

d, Tuesday, 23 September 2003 12:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you summoning the powers to call a FAP?

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 12:29 (twenty-two years ago)

i don't know where anything is yet but yeah itd be good to start drinking, that's always a solid plan

duane, Tuesday, 23 September 2003 12:34 (twenty-two years ago)

also does anyone have any drugs, can you get drugs in this town

d, Tuesday, 23 September 2003 12:36 (twenty-two years ago)

some psychogeography! isn't that what they get up to ther.
Go to the museum of childhood, it's supposed to be really creepy.
Or, find a magic penny! also: cups of tea, and psychedelics.

p.s. I know the person who modelled for the casting of kylie minogue's madame tussaud's statue's HIPS! She was the same size, apparently.

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 12:37 (twenty-two years ago)

creepy museum of childhood , that sounds real good! where is it?

duane, Tuesday, 23 September 2003 12:39 (twenty-two years ago)

bethnal green, right by the tube station

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 12:40 (twenty-two years ago)

the really creepy english museum is the museum of curiosities on bodmin moor

at least the children in the museum of chuldhood haven't been stuffed

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 13:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah, the Vauxhall Cavalier...they should really market it to Anglophiles in the US...

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 15:04 (twenty-two years ago)

oh hey sorry about that spectra, I wasn't meaning for that (& I'm not even too sure if it WAS a duncan), but I'd gotten um "mixed up" w/them, sorta & have low-level dread. should have taken it OFFBOARD (like the motor).

etc, Tuesday, 23 September 2003 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)

is this about drugs?

duane, Wednesday, 24 September 2003 07:39 (twenty-two years ago)

hey just tonight I caught the end snippet of something on the News where Damien Hirst was saying something and then there was shots of a museum with lots of stuffed things and people carrying them out...I think Hirst was trying to buy it to keep the collection together but it didn't work out? is that the museum of curiosities??

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Wednesday, 24 September 2003 09:05 (twenty-two years ago)

yes

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 24 September 2003 09:11 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.windmillbrixton.co.uk/main.php

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 24 September 2003 09:36 (twenty-two years ago)

''i guess since it is only a wednesday we will start relatively early, maybe 8.30 or 9.00, but for people wanting to meet duane i guess we would be there from 6.30-ish
-- cameron (cameronbai...), August 27th, 2003.''

this is from one of the other threads. the venue opens at 8 so where are you gonna be until then?

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 24 September 2003 09:40 (twenty-two years ago)

duane, Tuesday, 30 September 2003 08:23 (twenty-two years ago)

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 30 September 2003 17:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey Duane I wld still like to see you on yr return trip to London, I have gdish weed too! I have no idea where the f Tulse Hill is!

Andrew L (Andrew L), Thursday, 2 October 2003 19:39 (twenty-two years ago)

ok cool! i'll let you know when im goin back there, couple more weeks time. tulse hill is where cameron lives, i wasnt suggesting it entirely seriously.

duane, Friday, 3 October 2003 10:45 (twenty-two years ago)

in the sense that london has no actual real centre, given its trans-dimensional double doughnut geometry, tulse hill is a good a singularity point as ever

mark s (mark s), Friday, 3 October 2003 11:52 (twenty-two years ago)

but there are no good pubs here. so nix, i say

cameron, Friday, 3 October 2003 13:47 (twenty-two years ago)

:0

Tim (Tim), Friday, 3 October 2003 13:51 (twenty-two years ago)
