I must say I like this new season of survivor! what a great idea to make it pirate-themed! this is the official thread starting now!

s1utsky (slutsky), Friday, 26 September 2003 04:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I've yet to see if any of the characters will develop into anything great, besides the big beardo, who is super.

and I must re-iterate that I love the pirate stuff--I'm looking forward to pirate ships, swordfights, hell, there's already been buried treasure.

s1utsky (slutsky), Friday, 26 September 2003 04:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I may have to eat my words if this turns out to be crappy.

s1utsky (slutsky), Friday, 26 September 2003 04:05 (twenty-two years ago)

was this on tonight? if so, i missed it (i keep spacing out about what's on tv, grr). the big beardo looted some stuff off of the other tribe last week though. and there was nudity, though it wasn't all that interesting.

JuliaA (j_bdules), Friday, 26 September 2003 04:08 (twenty-two years ago)

FINALLY, SURVIVOR HAS COME BACK TO ILE.

I do feel kind of bad for the pitiful Morgan tribe, and I feel that there's going to be some sort of twist upcoming so that the competition isn't so unbalanced. You know, like Mark Burnett bringing in Paul Tagliabue for some NFL brand 'parity.'

Also, I continue to wait for the hot girls to grow personalities.

Leee (Leee), Friday, 26 September 2003 04:23 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, there will be a twist, though I always find those cheap. with drake riding so high there will have to be some sort of fall, and if it thins out all those anonymous-looking attorneys named joel it will be for the better.

s1utsky (slutsky), Friday, 26 September 2003 04:25 (twenty-two years ago)

One minus so far, even though it's only two shows in: there hasn't been a talking doll in the Mad Dog/Rudy mold yet, something that's really lacked in the series since the producers decided to go w/ photogenic people. Yet more evidence that pretty people are vacuous.

Leee (Leee), Friday, 26 September 2003 04:34 (twenty-two years ago)

you know I was thinking today about how the characters from the first season are still pretty vivid in my mind, where I can't really remember anyone from the following ones. they really cast that first outing well

s1utsky (slutsky), Friday, 26 September 2003 04:36 (twenty-two years ago)

im still basking in the glow of Jun's victory in Big Brother. It's a huge step forward for Asian-Americans - someone that we yellow people can all be proud of. dont you agree?

phil-two (phil-two), Friday, 26 September 2003 04:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I still think Allison deserved the prize

s1utsky (slutsky), Friday, 26 September 2003 04:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll hold out for Survivor: Pearl Necklace to come along.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 26 September 2003 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

CONGRATULATIONS NOODLES YOU ARE THE MILLIONTH PERSON TO MAKE THAT JOKE!

*trumpet fanfare, confetti, etc*

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 26 September 2003 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

you're just chuffed that he made it before you

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 26 September 2003 14:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I watched a half-hour of this last night and it was boring! Tivo has spoiled me; I just want to fast-forward through everything.

teeny (teeny), Friday, 26 September 2003 14:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm in love with Sandra.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 26 September 2003 14:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Sandra rocks mightily. Actually, the entire Drake tribe rocks except for Jon.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 26 September 2003 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh yeah, I had a roommate just like him once. Everybody loved him the first day, but by noon day 2...

I think he's going to be the major problem with Drake, they seem poised to sweep challenges, and they won't be able to get rid of him.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 26 September 2003 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I love that he's basically gone through his entire life making people just uncomfortable enough where they dislike him but not uncomfortable enough to actually tell him all about himself. It's kind of like the producers cast him specifically so that Sondra can lose her shit and bitch him out.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 26 September 2003 15:00 (twenty-two years ago)

"Beardo" hahahahahahaha.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 26 September 2003 15:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Apparently Jon and Mr. Fire-is-life Probst got into a coupla scraps during filming.

cybele (cybele), Friday, 26 September 2003 15:04 (twenty-two years ago)

"The Probst has spoken!"

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 26 September 2003 15:07 (twenty-two years ago)

GOD I hope they show that on the air!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 26 September 2003 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Aw poor Ryan. I felt so bad for that kid.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 26 September 2003 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Probst brutally beating Jon would be classic. Beardo makes the show, I honestly thought he was going to kill the guy who lost the spear for a minute or two.

Nicolars (Nicole), Friday, 26 September 2003 15:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Beardo makes the show

So that's where Tom's been.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 26 September 2003 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Beardo Ewing

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 26 September 2003 16:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Aw poor Ryan. I felt so bad for that kid.
Esp. since in Tribal Council he showed for the first time (for viewers at least) what his strengths were. He knew what needed to be done to get the team on track. Despite his skinny arms and narrow ass, he probably would've made a better leader than that guy in the suit who seems awfully worried about hallucinations.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 26 September 2003 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

that guy in the suit who seems awfully worried about hallucinations.

He's Jerry Springer's lawyer! I read that in the TV Guide.

Nicolars (Nicole), Friday, 26 September 2003 16:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Andrew the big shot lawyer boy? Yeah, he seems like a grade A ass.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 26 September 2003 16:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Have you noticed how often he talks about hallucinations?
I think he's unbalanced.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 26 September 2003 16:27 (twenty-two years ago)

http://wwwimage.cbs.com/primetime/survivor7/images/survivors/rupert/main_pic.jpg

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 26 September 2003 16:29 (twenty-two years ago)

If they're both around for the merger, Rupert the troubled-teens worker will make short work of hallucinating lawyer boy.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 26 September 2003 16:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I've been wondering for years what Hacksaw Jim Duggan was doing with his life.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 26 September 2003 16:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Everybody Loves Rupert.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 26 September 2003 16:35 (twenty-two years ago)

He's the man we all wish we could be.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 26 September 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

superlate xp re: s1utsky's last post about memorable casts. I agree that the first bunch were the most interesting folks, but Survivor 2 is in the same league (it's been a big downhill apathy/antipathy-fest since). Mad Dog was brief but bright as hell, Jerry was the Witchy Rich, Elisabeth aka Matt Hasselbeck's gf was the cutest contestant ever (even though she didn't *do* anything), and Colby was the best player in the history of the show, trusting Tina and his taste for older women notwithstanding.

Leee (Leee), Friday, 26 September 2003 19:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I know Jerri did, but did those bimbos from last season ever take off their clothes for pleiboi?

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 26 September 2003 19:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Of course they did. They stripped for peanut butter, didn't they?

Nicolars (Nicole), Friday, 26 September 2003 19:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes and yes. Meanwhile I wait for Erin (from when Pr0n King won) to doff her duds.

Btw, does anyone know how the rumors about Erin being a tranny got started?

Leee (Leee), Friday, 26 September 2003 19:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Erin, Erin, which one was she?
Was that Jerri's silent buddy?

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 26 September 2003 19:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Jerri's latch-on was Amber.
Erin was the one with the booty and fakey b00bs from two series ago.

Leee (Leee), Friday, 26 September 2003 20:38 (twenty-two years ago)

My nutjob mother just called me and told me she wants to go on the show. Oh man, she is going nuts.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 3 October 2003 11:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Morgan has officially proved that they are morons. Voting off the hardest worker/firebuilder this early in the game is not the move, particularly when your "stongest player" has 1) already spent some time whining that he wants to go home and 2) was instrumental in every loss your team has suffered.

I can understand wanting to keep Osten around as personal insurance in the sense that anyone who gets to know him would NEVER pick him as the winner, but at this stage in the game it's WAY more important to keep the people integral to your comfort around. (Also Dara has the world's most annoying voice.)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 3 October 2003 13:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm kind of miffed that I missed this last night, but that's what I get for taking a new job where I have to work until late into the evening. Who got voted off?

Nicolars (Nicole), Friday, 3 October 2003 13:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Lill the mad Scoutmaster (aka the one who built the fire and fetched the water and basically made herself indispensible to the comfort of the Morgan tribe; we'll see how "mentally tough" they are when they show up at the next challenge dehydrated and hypothermic HAW).

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 3 October 2003 13:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Morgan totally are idiots; Dan is OTM. They freaked out on Lil for GOING FISHING TO GET THEM FOOD! This tribe clearly does not have a future! That lawyer guy is such a terrible leader. why do they need a leader anyway? a real bunch of sad sacks, them.

s1utsky (slutsky), Friday, 3 October 2003 14:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Skinny Ryan was also clearly the smartest guy on the team...

s1utsky (slutsky), Friday, 3 October 2003 14:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Apparently Drake is considering throwing the next challenge so that they can boot Jon, which is not necessarily the move strategically but I can completely understand the impulse.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 3 October 2003 14:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Beardo ownz. I think he's Randall Tex Cobb.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 3 October 2003 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

wouldn't he be like 96 by now?

Jerri? Fuck!
Why is have the cast of Season 2 (aka, the lamest season) on there?

By "unconfirmed," do you mean you just pulled those names out of your (or someone else's) ass?

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 16 December 2003 15:12 (twenty-two years ago)

This is the list that was posted on the PlanetSocks.com Survivor board.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 16 December 2003 15:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I would have loved if in this seasons finale as they were doing that box balancing thing Rudy submerged from the water in full Navy Seal outfit and popped john in his rat head with a glock.
