He should go and have a nice little harmonica solo in the streets of Baghdad, where the Iraqi people would kick his scruffy ass up and down the street and steal his clothes. I guess the fact that he is a big republican party supporter kind of gives you an idea of their mentality. Shwarzneager, Willis, Bush the tough guys. I hope Demi Moore got some good hard kicks to his balls in before they split.
Meanwhile. american soldiers are like "Thats great Bruce, but how about getting us the hell out of this traumatic nightmare guerilla conflict that puts my life in danger everyday and my wife and kids may loose me because that creep in teh WHite House wanted revenge?"

I can understand Brucie being in the melon market (anybody's would be a huge improvement on his own) but for the money he should be able to do a hell of a lot better than that.

What a presumptuous jackass. I would be so fucking pissed if I had an extended tour in Iraq and was getting shot at all the time and just found out my pay was cut at home and then when there's actually some entertainment what do they give you? fucking Bruce Willis and a harmonica. I hope the Get Your War On guy gets some good material out of it.

'He should go and have a nice little harmonica solo in the streets of Baghdad, where the Iraqi people would kick his scruffy ass up and down the street and steal his clothes.'

Not if anybody had in Iraq had seen the bonk scene in Moonlighting, they wouldn't! Especially 15 or 20 years later.

"It's awesome," said commander Col Michael Linnington. "It's great for morale. "He's a macho actor. Soldiers identify with action movies and action actors. He's a guy's guy."

made me think of

Private Ryan Saves War by Howard Zinn. (contrary to movies like _All Quiet on the Western Front_ it is a war movie, not an anti-war movie.)

The picture of him in the guardian today was priceless. Him in fatigues going mental on a trampoline.

Ed (dali), Saturday, 27 September 2003 12:16 (twenty-two years ago)

New campaign : BRUCE WILLIS TO THE FRONT LINE !!

Mike Hanle y (mike), Saturday, 27 September 2003 12:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't stop posting this pic. I'm sorry. And yes, he's an annoying asshole.

The Guardian picture that accompanies this story is unbelievable. Willis has out-Willised himself, if such a thing is possible. He's in full smirk, and he's rocking out with a tambourine on a level heretofore-unreached before in the history of tambourinemanship. The smirk and the tembourine may be connected and they may not be. Gareth said Willis was using the tambourine to hold on for dear life, that he was in agonizing pain. I don't think, however, that it's particularly painful being Bruce Willis. It looks like a lot of fun.

"heretofore-unreached before in the history of tambourinemanship" - strong words mr. hand. strong words.

cinniblount (James Blount), Saturday, 27 September 2003 17:31 (twenty-two years ago)

wait a minute... he was playing a tambourine on a trampoline?

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 27 September 2003 17:31 (twenty-two years ago)

That was one of Ed's finger/brain disconnects.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Saturday, 27 September 2003 17:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Which is a pity, I must see this vision come to life.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 27 September 2003 17:37 (twenty-two years ago)

trampoline is better: esp.if the front line has first-world war style trenches

mark s (mark s), Saturday, 27 September 2003 17:39 (twenty-two years ago)

And barbed-wire!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Saturday, 27 September 2003 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

A shiny gold coin for the person who posts the tambourine photo.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 27 September 2003 18:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Didn't Demi moore leave him because he stank at all times of body filth?

Mike Hanle y (mike), Saturday, 27 September 2003 20:19 (twenty-two years ago)
