Gutted ! I'd only just found out he was still alive as well. 'Singin in the Rain' - what a classic, a knowingness and self-awareness way ahead of its time, and O'Connor moving wonderfully.

Why have I not seen Singin' In The Rain yet? I've been meaning to for ages. RIP.

until the obit came across the lines, i also didn't know that donald o'connor was still alive.

singin' in the rain was one of the most pleasant surprises of a movie that i've ever seen ... a true joy to watch. for that alone (and it's my shame that i'm ignorant of everything else that mr. o'connor did), RIP.

'Make 'em laugh,
Make 'em laugh ...'

He was brilliant. That one sequence from Singin' in the Rain, where he sings 'Make 'Em Laugh' for Kelly, makes my all-time top-ten list of movie scenes.

I miss the old song and dance men.

awww, RIP you great and funny man.

it's so weird to find out someone you really love is dead when you didn't even realize they were alive.

he looked pretty ok on the supplementary documentary on the "singin' in the rain" dvd. i guess appearances can lie.
