Black satin, fabric (dyeable) or suede stilettoes. Three inch heels. There are a lot of these in the shops right now in US and UK, so you're in luck.

That first pair Pinkpanther linked are gorgeous.
I was going to suggest kitten heels.

I love them, jobrown!

Pink, If you're talking about a Brit tv show, Nick talks about it all the time. Neither of us have seen it but we've been keeping an eye out for it at video stores.

My wife says definitely kitten heels.

I say avoid anything with a remotely chunky heel, unless you are a bit hefty in the calfal area.

Mark C (Mark C), Friday, 17 October 2003 15:45 (twenty years ago) link

yeah no chunky heel. also i think the shoe you just linked to is far too plain and practical looking for a semi/formal dress. I second kitten heels with either an open toe or sling back.

Purse-wise what you describe is good. I love the boxy lucite bags from the late 50's/early 60s as well. Jewlery a simple chain and maybe a rhinestone cuff.

the shoe scenario continued.....out and about at the weekend and came across the perfect shoes!! from Jasper Conran, pink, satin, kitten heel, peep toe sling backs...topped off with a bow!! made for my outfit, in my size even better in the sales! now all i need is the pink bag which i couldnt find but have a couple of weeks yet. Thanks for all your feedback so far!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 20 October 2003 09:38 (twenty years ago) link

I have a similar dress also, only without spaghetti straps. I have flat black shoes and I need a clutch bag. However, what can I put over it when im in the open top car? I need to be a little warm!
