HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICHARD!

Everyone should get a thread on their birthday. Use it to discuss Richard. Or badgers.

Only fair that the new answers crew gets to join in.

Tom, Tuesday, 2 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Badgers, they am be coool. But not as cool as Ricky T. Are there any big Ricky T celebrations which people can crash?

Pete, Tuesday, 2 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Oh, RickyT! Didn't know it was yer birthday! Have a happy one!

The only badgers I know are the ones that used to protest outside the Houses of Parliament. I used to love when tourists would harrass them- they were badgering the badgers.

Happy Birthday. Badgers are funny. They live in sets, but not tv sets. Sets a little like warrens, what rabbits live in. I guess some badgers live in converted warrens. They'd have to knock through, as badgers are larger than rabbits. Rabbits though, that move into sets, well they must think they've really made it. All that space! Wow! Lucky rabbit! I do not know where RickyT lives. I hope however, that he is as happy as a rabbit in a warren conversion.

I went on a badgerwatch once and saw badgers - they were great. I thought we'd only seen two but in fact we had seen fifteen according to our badger-expert guide. The cunning beasts had fooled me my dint of looking quite like one another.

Tom, Tuesday, 2 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

I thought this was going to be a thread about Ricky Tomlinson.

chris, Tuesday, 2 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Awww, shucks. Thanks folks.

Richard Tunnicliffe, Tuesday, 2 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

More likely: the badger-expert guide had fooled you by dint of your assumption that badgers look more like one another than they do

On every birthday thread I'm going to say:

Hip hip hooray for you on your magical birthing day.

HB, RT. I bought a lovely carved wooden badger pen on the Isle of Arran earlier this year to give to my friend Louise for her birthday. If I ever go back, I will get you one too.

Happy Birthday indeed. Does anyone know the correct name for baby badgers as me & someone else were trying to remember the other night, I think we (i.e. I) decided it was cubs. Or maybe kittens. Anyone? I would look on the interweb but am having to reduce my usage......

Emma, Tuesday, 2 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

HAPPY BIRTHDAY !

anthony, Tuesday, 2 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

according to jeeves:

Badgers live in social groups of four to 12 adults. Only one female badger in a social group normally breeds, although occasionally two or more may do so. Litters of two or three cubs are usually born in February.

so there you go :)

carsmilesteve, Tuesday, 2 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Happy B-Day! I are knowing nothing about badgers!

Mitch Lastnamewithheld, Tuesday, 2 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Happy birthday, Richard. And badgers rock. Yes. I am not sure I know enough about either of them to discuss them, mind you, but they both seem cool. Uh, yeah.
