Cocaine and You - a continuing journey.

hello,

been making the rounds of christmas parties and it is the proverbial blizzard out there. the thing i want to know is there anything such as 'ironic coke snorting'. i find the whole thing vaguely ironic. talking to some people at a party and then 'hey do you want to do a line?'. or cutting out that middle converation and going 'do you have a card' and the next thing is that you are in the middle of the toilet in some fantastic house in london snorting like a demon. ha ha. its pretty funny - ironic coke taking.

anyways, i am rambling but what is the general opinion of cocaine? i think its good fun. an evening of coke and champagne is beginning to be more appealing than other evenings spent elsewhere - sort of like the full eighties revival in effect and i'm doubling as a poorly written extra in a bret easton ellis novel. but my god some of these people at the parties seem to be pianates and all what they need to do is to break open a finger and pour out the cocaine and pure mdma powders.

i can see why people get addicted!! ha ha. i suppose if you are rich enough - why not ...

i've got some quesions about pure mdma (which i've taken alot of the past week or so) but will see how this question of cocaine: classic or dud turns out first.

It's an evil, evil drug and you'd be better off never doing it. Your brain is a finely tuned machine and messing with its chemical homeostasis is nuttin but trouble.

oops (Oops), Saturday, 13 December 2003 20:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't post this thread, btw.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 13 December 2003 20:35 (twenty-two years ago)

that being said...yeah it's fun...and jumping out a window is pretty exhilarating until you hit the ground.

oops (Oops), Saturday, 13 December 2003 20:36 (twenty-two years ago)

consider the source = resounding DUD

positively, Saturday, 13 December 2003 20:36 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm not on it at the moment! ha ha. just a'wondering about it that is all.

the soft drug, Saturday, 13 December 2003 20:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Repeatedly spending time trying to work in the studio w/musicians who habitually use cocaine, and getting nothing done, and wasting shitloads of (other peoples, but still..) money, and getting annoyed w/the stipid shit they babbled finished off my tolerance for coke. Sorry.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Saturday, 13 December 2003 20:38 (twenty-two years ago)

well, i'm not saying that i felt resoundingly creative on it. but purely for party purposes i think its ace. and its funny that some people that i met lately do it at parties and have a good time. what do you make of it as a party drug? to be honest i just felt really upbeat on it. been super tired lately and it gave me energy to get through all of these parties as of late.

pure mdma though was heaven and i felt the f/x.

the soft drug, Saturday, 13 December 2003 20:41 (twenty-two years ago)

When you don't use it (I don't) you find that people who are on it are a massive pain in the ass. People on mdma (which I also don't use) can be fun to be w/ in my experience (my experience may not match yours, but still...)

Pashmina (Pashmina), Saturday, 13 December 2003 20:42 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, i could see that. but the pure mdma blew me apart pash. i would never go out and score coke but i'm trying to sell something at the moment and its easier to participate. peer pressue OH NO OH NO! : - D its funny but i did not feel the f/x of cocaine. i was far too drunk but the pure mdma was a different feeling. i was happy that i took the pure mdma because that was one experience that i always wanted to have. (i'm referencing pure mdma as such because its very different from xtc).

the soft drug, Saturday, 13 December 2003 20:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Plus, nearing 40, I find that my contemporaries who used cocaine regularly are generally in a worse state than most of the other regular drug users (nb I only know 1 ex-junkie, and he is in a pretty poor state, but his time on junk is only one part of this) Even the heavy stoners, incl people who've spent the 20yrs since leaving school on welfare doing not very much except scoring dope and sayibng they were going to do something that they never quite got around to are still pretty presentable, and you can still have a decent conversation w/them and stuff. FWIW, again, my experience may not be universal and quite possibly will differ from that of others.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Saturday, 13 December 2003 20:48 (twenty-two years ago)

it gave me energy to get through all of these parties as of late.

Such an essential and significant activity that would ruin your life if missed...

Vic (Vic), Saturday, 13 December 2003 20:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Ha, every drug ever to thread.

I kinda liked cocaine. It was like being piss drunk minus the staggering and vomiting bit. However, the GRR I WANT MORE MORE MORE feeling that set in after two hours or so makes it v dud in hindsight.

Wintermuté (Wintermute), Saturday, 13 December 2003 20:51 (twenty-two years ago)

nah, its not a ken loach reality drama, pash. im not craving it or anything. just thought that the cocaine made everything a bit brighter and shinier and was able to discuss and what not whilst drinking ridiculous amounts. the aesthetics of drug taking are very important to me - if i am in a ludicrously grand house etc yeah i would do it but i would never go out in the street and score it.

the pure mdma though - i think that was the only time that i took a drug and felt incredibly euphoric for a week afterwards.

i know the junkie scene and am a very controlled person!! perhaps not so with pot. but pot is equivalent to drinking for me.

the soft drug, Saturday, 13 December 2003 20:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, the numbers of big law firm lawyers who run on cocaine. Oh, how sure they are that nobody notices and that it has only positive effects on their work and personalities. Oh, how wrong they are.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Saturday, 13 December 2003 20:54 (twenty-two years ago)

"everything in moderation" yadda yadda yadda you've heard it all before. the most druggy guy I knew = this guy who sang in a band I was in, he only took acid and mdma. He once spent a LUDICROUS amount of time on a trip, like months. We figured he'd be the biggest fuckup ever, b/c he wound up just talking nonsense all the time, like once we did a gig, where for the whole gig, he just sang 'armchair, armchair, armchair', but he now does a 'responsible' job (I mean in the sense that his job has a heavy responsibility to other people attached) and earns shitloads of $$$. (Sorry, all this is just sparking off memories and I'm splurging, I'll stop now.)

Pashmina (Pashmina), Saturday, 13 December 2003 20:57 (twenty-two years ago)

'ken loach reality drama' haha = MY FUCKIGN LIFE, these days!!!1

Pashmina (Pashmina), Saturday, 13 December 2003 20:58 (twenty-two years ago)

nah. just wanted to hear experiences with cocaine. my earlier experience (three years ago) with a rich girl high on cocaine for crazy amounts of time was a bit of a draggy druggy time, and when i did it, it was not very enjoyable, but when i've been doing it this month for the first time in ages i really liked it. ha ha.

but whenever i try something its always controlled. i think i enjoy the experiences of drug taking more than the drugs itself? makes sense? ha. no!

the soft drug, Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you on something right now?

Lara (Lara), Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:01 (twenty-two years ago)

'ken loach reality drama' haha = MY FUCKIGN LIFE, these days!!!1

ha ha! off to watch pop idol.

ps. no i'm not on anything right now. ha ha. just cigarettes and coffee. believe on not i can do these things without going through junkie hell. ha ha. but yeah generally drugs are bad, etc - but just wanted to check in and ask the ilx crew about it and their experiences.

the soft drug, Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh dear.

Lara (Lara), Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:04 (twenty-two years ago)

lara, no offence, but i've known pure junkies who would sell their bodies and everything in the apartment for smack or crack. i do drugs very infrequently. this was to get people talking about experience because i was interested.

though - a scanner darkly, read whilst 14, made me go out and buy my first hit of acid. ha ha.

the soft drug, Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Lara, did you get my e-mail?

kirsten (kirsten), Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Nope. RJG just mentioned it. Was it good? ;-)

Lara (Lara), Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:08 (twenty-two years ago)

however if that 'oh dear' was referencing pop idol. i know. its been rubbish as of late.

a scanner darkly for soft drugs, Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:08 (twenty-two years ago)

It was beautiful. I'll try to reconstruct it.

kirsten (kirsten), Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:08 (twenty-two years ago)

pop idol?

beautiful is a very strong word for it!

ha ha.

the soft drug, Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:09 (twenty-two years ago)

lara, no offence,

I don't know why you wrote this. What am I missing? Is my offense radar on the blink again?

(Kicking Kirsten - do, please! Out of doughnuts if possible)

Lara (Lara), Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:11 (twenty-two years ago)

no worries, lara, it is a vocal tick. 'i.e.' no offence, lara (i.e. meaningless phrase for me).

the soft drug, Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I like it every now and then. Try not to do it around people who aren't indulging as well. That way you avoid that 'pain in the ass' syndrome. Might have a bit tonight as a matter of fact. . .

A Girl Named Sam (thatgirl), Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:13 (twenty-two years ago)

hi ******! [you may or may not be correct in your assumption julio. if you are correct, please respect posters' wishes for anonymity, if wrong, what is the person going to think?? Yes, I received an email complaining...]

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Lara: Sent.

kirsten (kirsten), Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Between this and the MDMA thread, I actually feel a little better about never having used illegal drugs. Thank you.

j.lu (j.lu), Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:21 (twenty-two years ago)

actually thank you.

i am trying to process this into something that i am writing and used ilx (god knows why! ha ha.) to kickstart it. and was interested in experiences. i've asked norman to delete the thread.

see you folks!

the soft drug, Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:35 (twenty-two years ago)

why are we deleting so much shit lately? there have been drug threads before.

A Girl Named Sam (thatgirl), Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:36 (twenty-two years ago)

check yr inbox sam!

Pashmina (Pashmina), Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:38 (twenty-two years ago)

sam, just believe me, this was a bad move on my part and if norman could/would i would appreciate it if he did delete the thread. what say you pashmina?

the soft drug, Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:40 (twenty-two years ago)

The person who posted this has requested in a really serious manner that it, and their other one be deleted for various reasons, some good. (to reveal reasons = poss to reveal person's actual id, a regular user here.)

My inclination = to lock thread, and delete tomorrow am, so you can sacve it if you find it interesting or s.th.

Advise me please, I'm really fucking stuck w/this one. I like this person a lot, FWIW.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:43 (twenty-two years ago)

help!!!

Pashmina (Pashmina), Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:43 (twenty-two years ago)

i think the rules state that the person who started the thread can request the deletion. is up for discussion? i would have been cool with it but i don't think its going to be that cool. just delete it please. it was a bad move on my part. o.k. in real life i'm not guarded but on ilx i have to be. i forgot my own personal rule. i fucked up norman. lets delete it.

the soft drug, Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:45 (twenty-two years ago)

it isn't ned raggett, is it?

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 13 December 2003 22:39 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, he's a moderater, himself, forget it.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 13 December 2003 22:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Yr mail bounced, Sam :(

I'm locking the thread, but not deleting it.

Please & by all means start another abt your experiences w/cocaine, c/d dud or whatever if anyone wishes to discuss this.

Thx.

(RJG - no, it's not Ned)
