Using fake ID's to avoid debts

OK, I'm totally broke and I keep getting $1000 bills for an ambulance ride. Fucking american healthcare. People who aren't going to yell at me for stealing, can you please tell me whether I should try to get a fake ID in case something like that ever happens again? Is there any other way I can get around paying for healthcare I need but can't afford?

Look into free or sliding-scale health clinics. How voluntary was the ambulance ride (were you unconscious, seriously injured, etc)?

no shit ambulance charges are over the roof and as far as I know there is no way to get out of them if you don't have insurance. It's bullshit. but it seems like walking around with a fake id all the time just in case you need to go to the hospital in an ambulance would be kind of unwise, since an ID is useful for other things (like contacting your family if kick it).

I've never ridden in an ambulance. I've never ridden roller-blades. I've never had a moustache.

I have, however, been appointed a public defender by the court.

We have this ambulance subscriber thing here, its a great idea - even if you dont have insurance you can buy ambo cover for like $40 a year or some cheapy price to avoid being smacked with an $800 bill from being carted to emergency.

I do not have ambulance cover. I have this vision of me lying bloody on a footpath screaming DONT CALL AN AMBULANCE I'M NOT BLOODY PAYING FOR IT CALL ME A TAXI OR SOMETHING DAMMIT.

And as TISM always say, "nothing ever happens to ambulance subscribers" anyway.

yeah i was just gonna mention ambulance subscription! how often do you plan on this happening in the future?

Sucka, medical bills do not negatively impact yr credit as long as you pay something. Even a dollar a mth counts as payment.

You could also call the company and see if they have programs to help those who can't pay.

Migrate to Finland.

Did you need the ambulance? If so, I might suggest sacking up and taking care of your business.

or to certain Canadian provinces.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 16 December 2003 01:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you sure that's true, Sam? Because that doesn't seem to be the case in California.

Migrate to anywhere else...except Australia.

Uggh. A few years ago in Canada, I got an ambulance visit one time when I was standing on a chair, fell off and woke up with a lump on my head and a bunch of people freaking out around me. I told them I was fine and they were like "OK, have some oxygen. That's enough? OK seeya later." Then this year, I stupidly got really drunk (something I rarely do) and stupidly smoked a bunch of pot (something I never did before) then stupidly freaked out, got a stupid ambulance ride until they could make sure my stupid brain wasn't getting a stupid aneurism or something, and got that stupid bill. I really hope that stupid shit isn't going to be a regular thing. Anyways, I will call them and see if they will take a dollar a month, but I will say no thanks to a subscription. Thanks Sam and alla you's.
