Occasionally, if I'm feeling particularly exotic, I'll add a splash of Worcestershire sauce and perhaps a sprinkling of grated cheese.

A worcester sauce is U&K in the preperation. Chuck a tablespoon of the stuff into the jug before microwaving it. Oh, and a HUGE slab of butter works as well - buttery tangy smooth beans, num num num.

there are so many things that are better on toast than beans. Soft roes, for example.

2 Cans Heinz "cheesy beans"2 or 3 large potatos, slicedveggies: onions, peppers, carrots, peas, mushrooms, sliced3 cloves garlic, minceda few ounces cheddar cheeseParsley, hot pepper, salt and pepper to taste.
In a jumbo skillet, heat the potatos with some oil and a few ounces of water- cover and let steam. When they're a few minutes from done, add onions, fry until carmelized, and sautee the rest of the veggies, adding garlic and mushrooms last they don't overcook. Add beans, stir, top with cheese and spice, heat a few minutes until ready, feeds 5.

Beans on toast, honestly.
― Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 22 December 2003 04:13 (twenty-two years ago)
(actually, it would probably be fine if I liked beans for their own sake more.)

or if you're daring, "the homer": beans, egg, cheese and bacon on toast (buttered). Literally not for the faint hearted, but oh the greatness.
― ken c (ken c), Monday, 22 December 2003 11:01 (twenty-two years ago)
No one's mentioned curry or chilli powder in their beans yet I'm sure loads of my mates at uni used to do this and claim it was heavenly.

I have to admit though, the thought of making it now doesn't exactly appeal, I'd much rather have a classic b.o.t.

Also the kind of beans you guys are talking about are just puke-irrific. I really only tolerate them at summer bbqs and the like. And then I just kinda push them around on my plate.
