It's definitely on my wishlist...how are the extras? is it as good as I remember? it's been a few years but I still think about Skank and chuckle to myself from time to time.

Oh lord... I don't know anything about the DVD, but YOU'VE GOT DANDRUFF!

Prude (Prude), Sunday, 21 December 2003 04:28 (twenty-two years ago)

have you seen the infomercial for it?

teeny (teeny), Sunday, 21 December 2003 04:29 (twenty-two years ago)

no! i didn't know there was one...

roger adultery (roger adultery), Sunday, 21 December 2003 04:30 (twenty-two years ago)

just checked the listings and it's not on again for the next two weeks, probably missed it. It was on comedy central in the middle of the night. My Tivo got it because it gets anything with Janeane Garofalo.

Hahahah awesome. She's even cuter in person.

sub-thread: Does the cast of the Ben Stiller Show look more like Superchunk than the cast of Kids in the Hall looks like Mission of Burma?

one month passes...
The "Manson" skit from episode #10 is one of the funniest things I have ever seen in my life.

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 12 February 2004 22:34 (twenty-two years ago)

it really is worth it for the Manson thing alone.

scott seward (scott seward), Thursday, 12 February 2004 22:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah we've got it, it's pretty good. A little dated in parts but still good.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 12 February 2004 22:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I watched it with the commentary last night, even those guys were cracking up at it.

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 12 February 2004 22:39 (twenty-two years ago)

It's weird. I cannot stand this show. I begin to crack a smile only when Odenkirk shows up. Other than that, phenomenal dud.

dean! (deangulberry), Thursday, 12 February 2004 23:04 (twenty-two years ago)

it's pretty uneven. it's a time-capsule kinda thing.

scott seward (scott seward), Thursday, 12 February 2004 23:06 (twenty-two years ago)

dean! do you know the skit i'm referencing?

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 12 February 2004 23:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes I do! NOT FUNNY

dean! (deangulberry), Thursday, 12 February 2004 23:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I must say for the record that I do not find Garofalo, Stiller or Dick to have been funny ever in their entire careers and perhaps lives. So maybe thats why I don't like it.

dean! (deangulberry), Thursday, 12 February 2004 23:09 (twenty-two years ago)

IT'S ODENKIRK! He says in the commentary that it's his best skit ever!!!! (ok maybe i dreamt that).

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 12 February 2004 23:10 (twenty-two years ago)

i was reading this interview with tina fey and she was talking about how writers on snl will often save their best stuff for themselves for a later date - and it shows, i know! - and how odenkirk regretted giving some of his best stuff to other people. he came up with dana carvey's cranky old man bit and it made me think of how funny that character would have been with bob playing him.(and how everyone ripped that off for years.(that whole "and we were poor, and we liked it!)

scott seward (scott seward), Thursday, 12 February 2004 23:10 (twenty-two years ago)

andy dick and bob odenkirk are much funnier than garofalo and stiller.

scott seward (scott seward), Thursday, 12 February 2004 23:11 (twenty-two years ago)

i like when dennis miller (who i don't like) rips on ben and the other actors.

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 12 February 2004 23:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, the Mr. Show season three has a lot of that talk ... esp. in regards to the Dana Carvey show. I think Dino wrote for that too.

(xpost x2)

dean! (deangulberry), Thursday, 12 February 2004 23:13 (twenty-two years ago)

bob odenkirk is one of the few celebs I've ever found extremely attractive, I think it's something about him being a huge dork.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 12 February 2004 23:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I shared an elevator with him the other night. I grabbed his ass for you. You owe me $5.

dean! (deangulberry), Thursday, 12 February 2004 23:24 (twenty-two years ago)

i love the dvd. the skit that features andy dick as a woody allen/mummy is hilarious!

Emilymv (Emilymv), Thursday, 12 February 2004 23:26 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah and he probably owes you a restraining order :)

x-post

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 12 February 2004 23:28 (twenty-two years ago)

It's ok. I helped him operate the elevator so it all worked out.

dean! (deangulberry), Thursday, 12 February 2004 23:38 (twenty-two years ago)

He couldn't work an elevator? !!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 12 February 2004 23:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I love the show and have seen all 12 or so episodes. I haven't got the DVD yet, though. As far as the sketches are concerned, the Bob Odenkirk "Manson" sketch is priceless. Also the one about Metallica doing a song for a Pauly Shore movie.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Thursday, 12 February 2004 23:45 (twenty-two years ago)

He couldn't figure out if it was going up or down even though it was clearly heading up. He seemed distressed but was fine on stage. Curmudgeon?

dean! (deangulberry), Friday, 13 February 2004 00:01 (twenty-two years ago)

That Manson skit is out of hand. I'd like to see that one again.

I remember liking "The True Tales of Springsteen", although I guess the Boss wasn't very impressed and it is why Stiller quit doing impressions.
